Also i didnt have a pivot pin puller so i ran to a couple shops and neither did they. I googled in the parking lot and found a youtube video. A metric machine screw, a nut and a washer later pins were out - fyiView attachment 2796011
I didnt notice when I bought it but after I installed this chevy tilt column I realized it had some awkward slop…. Not your normal loose torx screws issue this was more when (I know its hard on it) you grab the wheel and pull your self in it had sprung resistance but would move a bunch. Since I wasnt sure what else it would be I googled some utube videos and tore it clear down to find one of the pivot pins had backed out. I went ahead and checked the normal torx screw issue and lock tighten them but they were tight. I am hoping the pin stays if not I see they make some slightly oversized ones. I wish I would have used some sleeve retainer that i had but I didn't think of it. Lesson learned free play slop - torx screw issue, spring resisted slop pivot pin issue.
Also this time after i was done and it was close to cured i put a tap in an electric cordless drill and quickly chased all of the threads. Game changer!!! Highly recommended vs my last crap showLessons learned on coating over textured durabak with smooth durabak. I used a shutz gun each time. I really like the outcome of the semi texture now. I am not and was not a huge fan (for me) of the textured. It would have been on the harder side to clean. A gallon for the inside counting gas tank cover and both sides of trans cover is close! The first time i also did fromt of firewall and I used ot all and wished i had another quart. This time i have a little left but not much and I didnt redo fire wall. First item I like hitting it and then giving it a chance to set up and then from more of a distance hitting it lightly. It was identical to sheetrocking and provided an even texture even over areas that pooled on me by mistake. Next the tape line was a pain!!! The texture of the previous allowed material to get under the tape. It took a ton of hand work with xylene. If i could do it over I may have dropped my tape line a smidge onto non textured but it worked out fine just took an hour of elbow grease and a tad of panic
