hey guys i have been collecting brochures over the past few years and i thought i would post up the covers of the 1975 brocure.

early 75 (green) vs. late 75 (yellow)

i know guys talk about 75 being the transition year,but even the brochure ?

they made a early brochure and a later brochure for the same year.

looks like they just photochopped everything on the soft top model. :doh:
wipers,turn signals,windshield fold down bumpers. etc

not sure if ya can tell from the low res pics

this one was suppose to be for 74 ,I checked the dates on the back page of brochures and it looked like they decided to make a revision later on in the year for 75 . oh well i just thought it was interesting that toyota released 2 brochures less than 4 months apart.

They are both for the 75 model year.
If you read the earlier one it mentions details for the 2F....but shows the F1.5.
Same with the new for 75 front marker/turn signals.
 
Wipers were on the bottom from 1/75 on. May have been a early release brochure for 75. I had a friend who bought one of the first 75 in January 75. The new one piece door started 7/74 in Australia. Six months ahead of most other markets. But US it was 1/75. My friend who bought the 75 bought because he was so impressed by my 68 FJ40 compared to the 74 Datsun pickup he bought new. I was obviously jealous at the time. The question is does anyone have a late 74 built 74 with a 75 owner's manual.
 
My buddy’s canadian 1975 had early doors and drum front brakes and early 3spd transition t-case on his 4sp. With the 2F Not sure when the disc brakes showed up hmm.
Disc brakes started 9/75 with the 76 model. The so called transition case lasted until 4/75. If it has a four speed the transfer case idler gear and low range gear were different than the three speed. Even thought the H42 low range wasn't as low as the H41 they all the higher gears. 4/75 the transfer case fear were wider. That included the three speed transfer case that lasted until 9/82. Some markets the FJ40 got an early four starting 9/72. Those had the higher low range the three speed. Only advantage I can see of the transfer used in the early four speed is can use the idler gear and low range from a three speed transfer case to get lower gearing. 4/75 wider gears can not use the earlier three speed transfer case gear to get lower gearing. At one time I checked and the late three speed transfer case idler and low range gear were still available. But for the cost of ordering out of country wasn't worth the small gain.
