Thanks rsb. The gasket install is on my list of to-dos for today once I figure out what to do with these kids who have no school. Not exactly the most fun 'snow day'. Pretty lame actually:/

Here are those pics. 1st one is of the 90 degree elbow. 2nd is the tube running to the vent on the valve cover.

Well son of a b. Thanks dog. That isn't even in my EMPI instruction manual. I feel dumb sometimes. I guess in a few years when this thread is long forgotten I'll look smarter answering some other guys question about this:)

Hey guys. So the gasket is in. My brother, in his attempt to help out, installed the gasket while I was at work. However, he did NOT cut the washers in half as I was planning:/ Is this a bad deal? Did I just watch a $45 gasket get wasted?

Otherwise, back to hooking hoses up. I noticed a couple of y'all saw my hoses routed improperly (or not at all:). Does anybody have a shot of a non-emission engine bay that I can reference for where all the lines should be run and what should be capped? Like I said, the PO certainly didn't do me any favors with all the half-way installed/deleted/etc. work.

Thanks guys!

You don't need to cut the washers in half, I didn't and it's working just fine. If you want to take the gasket off it will be perfectly fine to reinstall it with cut washers, you'll waste $45 if you buy another one. Man, mine only cost $20 from SOR. I did notice in one of your pictures that you have a port in your intake that's plugged. That same port on my intake is where I have the brake booster check valve hose running to. Where is yours routed to?

Well that's a good question. I've been trying to figure out which hose is the brake booster hose, and then where that is going. I'm struggling to find a photo that identifies those lines/valves. The drawn diagrams have so much shorthand and clutter I can't make an apples-apples comparison you know?

When I get back into the garage I'm going to snap photos of each line I have hooked up now and where it goes. Then I can have a digital-photo based how-to for myself and anybody else looking on here down the road in one location. Give a little back to the masses with all your guys help.

Thanks dog!

First picture is the line coming off that attachment to the intake manifold. The second shot is where that line goes to on the other side of the engine. Checking for accuracy in routing here again as well.

Okay. First photo is the line I have coming off the brake booster. The second two photos are where that line is going as of now (circled in red) onto the intake manifold. It's the same line and same spot in both photos, I just took a couple different angles in case it helps.

Thanks guys!

The first is a shot of the fuel line set up. I'm 99% that's correct:) The red circled section is the port the PO had plugged on the intake manifold. I have no idea if that is correct or not.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but It looks like you haven't installed your gas pedal yet. I don't see the pedal cable attached to the carb linkage.
You'll be making a costco run before you know it!

No that is correct. No gas pedal hooked up yet. Still trying to figure out the linkage system there and (probably) fab a bracket for that sucker. The PO had both the stock configuration and the MAF pedal/cable assembly. But with so much other stuff having been disassembled and tossed into various buckets (which I'm constantly pouring through), it's been a trick to find everything and get it back together:/ Good times!!!

Oh, and Costco trips are on hold even when it's running until I get this sucker painted! It's fully primed and ready for final sanding and paint, but I have yet to determine where/who to have paint it. I SUCK at painting and have no interest in it. I love the mechanical stuff, and appreciate good paint/body work, but just don't want to do it and screw it up:)

Are you wanting a true pro paint job? Are you going with a factory color? Pro's charge a bundle and a half! Don't make it TOO nice to where you're afraid to park it at costco. I painted mine under my carport. It came out pretty good I think.

Wow that looks nice! Yeah, I am going white inside and out, and then possibly do the hood and roof in black. Nothing fancy. I just want something that won't peel or let moisture/rust through after all this work:)

I might just have to take you up on that dog! Are you Seaside Fire and Rescue btw?

I'm doing some recon on a paint booth or two around here that I could rent. My garage is too big to mask off for paint, and the pissing rain makes it a little tough to paint outside you know? A heated booth rental for the weekend would be around $150 I think.

I had a buddy of mine actually come up with a good idea for my two-tone scheme. Instead of painting and then masking and repainting the roof in black, I could head down to a vinyl shop downtown that does all the body-panel vinyls for his race cars (he's a pro driver and owns a shop here). He absolutely abuses that race car and it still looks amazing. I'm still pondering that idea however. Regardless, the body is going solid white inside and out.

I'll probably be buying a keg for my brother and a buddy of his who like the body work stuff, and spending the weekend sanding the primer down to get it ready once I have a paint schedule figured. I'd much rather spend all that time wrenching, but I need to paint at some point right? :)

Thanks again dog!
