1973 Toyota FJ40 Build.....Long Road Ahead

Came home to two packages today. The first being a tiny little box containing 5 Torrington roller bearings from Tucker (Thank you Tucker). The bearings are for the cluster gears that are within the upper housing on the warn 8274. It is the Torrington B-68 that will be needed if you decide to remove the cluster gears. Tucker I have your solenoids boxed up and will ship them out tonight. I meant to drop them off this morning but honestly forgot to grab the box off the table when I left.

I also received the TPI full family bikini top I ordered. The total came to $81 shipped. I opened the box and the material seems to be pretty durable. However I'm doubtful that the top will fit over the bows leaving enough strap to strap to the rear of the tub. It even came with the two footman loops that are needed and a great parts diagram book.

Well I just ordered 3 more of those bearings since I need 6 and Tucker hooked me up with 5. It was cheaper to buy the 3 than one and who knows when I might need the two extra or someone else.

Cool thanks!

Lol not much to miss elsewhere when you are in Colorado. You can be in some beautiful places real fast and hot and hotter isn't much of a concern.

I thought Lee might have his book published by now and with the royalties he would pick up a top for me.

Not even close. There's at least 200 more pages that haven't been written yet. I was planning on using those royalties to buy a bumper.
If there's anything left over, I'll buy you a pint.

River Raider universal Air Box mounted since I'm running the weber carb and I don't have the stock air cleaner in order to hook up the snorkel.

Cool, I saw that box with the top in it and thought, damned, could it be? but no luck. Hey , at least you got one top you paid for....

Here's a mistake in my build. It's a JT outfitters transmission tunnel cover. Save your Money and buy one from SOR. The problem is that none of the holes drilled following the pre molded "dimples" line up. I think if it was about a inch or almost two wider from side to side it would line up, but since it doesn't it caused the transmission and transfer case shifter to be to far to one side so we had to widen those areas out. I ended up having to use a universal shift boot for the tranny and was able to use the transfer case boot. Anyways just my opinion here's the picture

I sit here dumb founded and I believe it is since I purchased the whole set up from a fellow mudder but I honestly do not know? I still have the stock 73 set up I pulled. I guess I should compare. I'll post some pictures of that.
