I just learned that my folks' property in Kernville, California was ransacked.
A bunch of things were stolen and broken but the most identifiable is my step dads FJ40 from 1973. Update: vin #FJ40153797

@oakweb Seems to have his eyes on about every sale outlet online, tagging him so he can get a visual in his memory bank and notify the OP if this pops up anywhere. The dent on the front of the drip rail will be a distinguishing characteristic if it gets painted.
What a dam shame. I hope this ends with a recovery and some well deserved vigilante justice against the thieves. They're nothing but low life scum.

Thanks! Yeah the vin is FJ40153797. I’ll update the original post as well. Fingers crossed for my step dad. The cruiser has tremendous sentimental value
If I saw that 73 I would have posted it, so it's not been on Craigslist or Facebook for at least past 14 days. I'll be sure to watch and post it so you can send the cops over. I'm looking for a patina rig (not red) but still any come up I take a good look at, have not seen this one.
@oakweb definitely interesting how the weathered areas are similar. I just talked to my mom and learned that the 40 was stolen last night, although other things went missing earlier in the week.
The 40 was found tucked up in some trees in a persons yard a couple towns over. After a few facebook reposts a neighbor of the thief called a family friend and the cops. The thief fled into the hills of Bodfish but the 40 is back home.
haha nice! Stupid people, good luck stealing a 40 in this market. There's not that many left and they draw enough attention where your only choice is going to be to part it out, and that takes a lot of work lol.
