My 1970 has the remote mounted oil filter with 2 hoses down to the engine block. I'm concerned about blowing a hose and loosing the engine oil. Do they make a part to mount the filter directly to the block or should I just put new hoses on? Any suggestions on hose source? Thanks

If you think the hoses need to be replaced then replace them. Had one blow on my '73 late one night on the freeway. Before I realized it the engine overheated and eventually froze.

Any good local shop should be able to make up a set while you wait.

Thanks for the responses. Will definitely get a set ordered.

@1969FJ

I have a set (from my 70) for sale in the classifieds.

I am not familiar with the redline hoses, but I can say that I found the SOR hoses to be undersized, flow-wise.
