This is a 1970 FJ40 with an F engine and three speed manual. I had bought it a few years ago as potentially a project vehicle but have moved on to other things. It's quite original and complete but it's a NJ car so it's rusty (floors shot). I don't have a title for it, it was supposedly kept on a farm since the 90's and was in use until 2012 when it stopped running. $1600. Located in Tunkhannock, PA.

I put photos on this dropbox link.

you should part that out yourself.

Why? Notwithstanding the missing title, this cruiser is an excellent project, as advertised. Tear it apart and all that would be left is yet another unnecessarily dismembered cruiser. Even without a title and assuming the most severe frame rust, this could easily be used as a "farm" vehicle.

So again, why part it out? Just needs some work!

No title, rust issues, most in similar condition with no title get parted out. Verses selling it for less to someone else who will part it out, I was just commenting you might get more money out of it by parting it our yourself.

on second thought... that has a new jersey license plate?? If you can track down a registration and you have a bill of sale that matches the sellers name to that registration you can register it in just about any state without any issues and get a new title. Assuming they have a copy of the registration on file....

It's an NJ car, last registered in 1989. Cars in NJ that are over 20 years old don't have titles, only transferable registrations. I got the car from a towing company who removed the truck from the property of a farmer. He apparently had used it to plow his driveway for the last 20 years which explains the plow frame/wiring on the front and the lack of recent sticker. I'm sure it could be titled with a little effort.

The frame looks okay and it's very complete and unmodified (other than the plow frame). There's 44k on the odo. I had planned to use a donor FJ60 (which I am also selling) to provide a new motor and some other parts but it's been sitting too long. I don't really have time to part it out so looking to sell whole.

unfortunately the "little effort" required is like I said.. about $1200 bucks.

Not true..... NJ uses titles no matter the age of vehicle. The 20 year limit is true in some other states, but not NJ.

I have 2 other vehicles registered in NJ that only received transferable registrations and not titles because of the age. Sort of like how they treat trailers. I guess they do it differently now.
