It's time to sell the 40. I recently bought a 60 for my wife and I to camp in and just can't afford to finish it now. I'm asking $6000 obo.
New clutch kit from ccot, new slave and master cylinders, resurfaced flywheel, new "ez wire" wiring harness(still in the box), Disk breaks up front, Rancho springs(probably from the 90s), good glass except the lift gate(Plexiglas type off stuff), nice 31X10.50 tires, Impi carb that runs good or a Weber 32 that doesn't. Your choice. The lights need some work, there is quite a bit of rust on the bib from not having a radiator overflow bottle, there's some bondo here and there(a lot on the hood), there's lots of layers of paint and one bullet hole, the front crank seal leaks pretty bad, the rain gutter is rusted through above the liftgate. If you have any questions please ask. If anyone is interested I can put up more pictures.

would like to see some more picture of body. How is the rust on frame and body around tail gate area?
 
There is surface rust on the frame an no rust around the rear doors. I'm trying to load some more photos. But this phone is slow this weekend.
 
Any chance that you're selling that pioneer rack (with the shovel, tools, etc)?

I would love to help fund your 60 build ... Undercarriage pics, please? How's trans (are they both original to the 40 ) and when were they last rebuilt?
 
As far as I know the tranny and transfer case are original and have not been rebuilt. I put a new to me f motor in it. The numbers on the block say it is a 69'. Probably never been rebuilt either. Front seal is leaking pretty bad. I'll get some more pics after work.
 
I know its a long shot but i have a 71 cj5 I'm looking to trade/sell for a fj40. It's super cool but doesn't look good parked next to my LS fzj80.
