Totally open to negotiate on the price. Still feeling the market out. Great vehicle, will go anywhere at anytime. I’ve had this 40 for the last 7 years and have done a lot of upgrades to be more user friendly. For the first 3 years it was my daily driver and never let me down. I have done the work myself, with other Land cruiser enthusiastists, or farmed out to Land cruiser specialists.

Pro’s
Desmogged 2F engine from early 80’s fj60, with weber carb, new plugs and wires, fluid heat riser, JTO headers, new starter, new radiator, hoses, belts, pilot bearing, rear main seal, clutch, upgraded to 4 speed transmission with vacuum shift 3 speed transfer case, t-case saver, custom front drive shaft (to accommodate for the 4 speed), removable crossmember on frame (to access the parking brake or remove driveline) IPOR headlight upgrade, block heater and oil pan heater installed, new alternator, Power steering with saginaw pump and Toyota mini truck box, 2.5” pro-comp lift with grease-able shackles and spring pins from CCOT, new best top seats on custom seat mounts with Smitty built metal center lockable console, Toyota Factory roll bar with CCOT seat belts, new exhaust, bikini top with tube doors (1.75” DOM) from redline cruisers in Colorado Springs, front wipers and seals replaced, wildwood disc brake kit from man-a-fre on front, new black steel wheel and 33x10.5 BFG tires (with spare), rear swing out tire carrier, inside lined with durabex liner, fuel system was upgraded to the later model type to have vapor recovery, custom fuel separator with charcoal canister. Block heater and oil pan heater for colder months. I also have many spare parts including, new turn signal assembly, spare exhaust manifold gasket, 3 speed transfer case housing, rebuilt rear heater. I did rewire the entire back half of the cruiser to replace all the exposed wiring below the body.

Con’s
Previous owner did an ok paint job, typical cruiser cancer is starting to bubble up but is really to a minimum. Air cleaner assembly was jacked up by previous owner so it takes a little finesse to get the carb seat with the assembly. Slave cylinder is is from an early fj60 and didn’t have a return spring I modified a spring, but I have a new one to install with fluid line to go with it. Usually have to double clutch when going back into first gear, otherwise it shifts nice and quiet. Hardtop has new seal kit and some wear, plus the hardtop doors don’t seal the best. And then little odds and ends here and there.

This rig is ready to go or set for a little money invested for a paint job. The 2F doesn’t burn any oil and has good compression still. Always been garage kept and I unfortunately never took her off road. I have probably 90% of all my receipts and have been very religious about fluid changes. It really pains me to see her go. I am selling her because my interests have started to go towards building an expedition rig and I need the garage space. I have invested a lot of money and time into my 40. I know I won’t be able to re-coop the costs. I’d like people to be honest and tell me if I am priced too high or low. Thanks
. I am a reasonable guy and want CONSTRUCTIVE feedback on a price point.

And sorry I don't have any pics with the hardtop on.

For $20k I would at least like to see some photos.

Yeh I must be missing something here. For 20K that must be one nice hardtop.

Yes 15 is a much better place to start. Even if you don't have pictures of the HT on, it would help to just have the pictures of the top and doors. That alone adds 3 to 4 thousand to rig, if they are a nice top and doors.

BTW what is the red smear on the oil pan? It looks like RTV trying to seal a leak? I am just curious because your in Colorado and I think if your top is in nice shape you just might move your rig pretty fast. Just my 2 cents. It sucks that the things we do to make our rigs more reliable also make them worth less money. Ie the 2F in a 1970 and basically all of the aftermarket stuff.

RTV on the oil pan is for the oil pan heater. I used that quite a bit before I added a block heater. I know the upgrades don't help but my cruiser was my daily driver for the first 3 years I had it. In my mind opinion the mods I did make it more useful.
