lookin good!!
my trick with hub caps is to squot down and place the hub cap over the wheel then place a knee on each side and grab the tire on each side with both hands and kind of push with your knees pull with your hands.
to get them off use the nail puller end of a regular hammer and a rag between the hammer and the wheel. does the least damage this way.
how did you paint it??

Thanks for the good words!

Good tip on the hubcaps. I was slightly embarassed to even asked but I pictured myself smashing the new caps with a hammer out of anger. I'll snap some pics with the hubcaps on.

The rattle-can chronicles continue.....I used Professional Strength semi-gloss Rustoleum spray cans. Got my technique down from practicing on an old fj40 hood I have in the garage. I've painted that thing a dozen times. I need to go back and fix some bondo spots anyway at some point so sanding it off won't be a painful process. I can re-paint it in the Lowe's parking lot afterwards!

I might just buy the custom mixed spray cans from Tower paint. I have the pumpkin paint (pollux orange) code color so some night when my son wakes me up at 2 am, I'll probably order 6 cans for a quick coat.

Leaning towards keeping the V now. If I can sell that troopy that is coming in I'll have the $$$ to fix the V. If someone writes a 3rd party, unendorsed mioney order check for the V, I'll keep the troopy. Who knows? Boo hoo for me....tough to complain with those 2 beasts to choose from.

They are Toyo's and I forget the size and the truck isn't at my house. Tires are a very ordinary size. Not doing any major mods. Stock Toyota rims.

Bought the set up (mounted and balanced) from Ted at Cruiser Solutions for $1200. He painted them stock gray and I bought some hubcaps separately. He's got a sweet operation going up in NH.

I would invest in a paint gun (you got your hood to practice on) instead of ordering all those cans of paint... It is not as difficult as you think...

I realize it's not difficult but I'll be sanding some areas to touch up later so using rattle cans for now is easier that setting up a spray gun and cleaning the system every time I want to work on a 2 foot section.

When the body is all done I'll get it sprayed for real. Either way it looks damn sexy and it's almost as pale as I am.

Reviving an old thread, what ever happened to this one?

I'm stalking RHD V's, you never know if one wants to come home.

I sold it 12 years ago. I fully regret selling it. It's one of a handful that 'got away'
