too cold to breathe

The cold has stopped most everything. Did a bunch of sanding this weekend but I'll have to do most of it over so I can prime properly when the weather warms up.

Haven't picked up the new rims from Cruiser Solutions yet. Just sold my 1963 oldsmobile (some guy is going to put 20's on it and bag it) Sweet, G! I'll have some more play money. I have the interior pulled and I'm going to drop it at a local upholstery place in Foxboro, MA. Getting a new wiring harness from EZ Wiring.

I have a lead on another 45v wagon in the middle of nowhere in Australia. I have my people hunting it down. The town it is in was 126 degrees F yesterday. They said it would be a few weeks to find it. I told my friends to buy it no matter what if they find it. I'll be selling that one and I'm sure there will be no rust at all. I'll keep everyone posted!!!!! Finding these things are half the fun!:shotts:

Bad burro!

Picked up my new tires and rims from Cruiser Solutions in NH today. They were tearing apart a troopy for a $100K resto. Unbelieveable build to come! They also had a fully restored 40 in the shop too and it should be in a museum. Wish I had the cash...... Ted is a great guy and runs a very clean shop. Good stuff!

Getting a small, rotted-out piece of the crossbar that runs behind the drivers seat on the floor fixed next weekend. My buddy's brother is a professional welder and he works for beer (payment after the job is done!) I'll snap a pic before and after the repair. It's rotted through and will hold up any painting and underside rustproofing in the near future.

Needed the new tires to drive the 45 to the garage. Hope it makes it!

I press on with the resto.....

I thought this thing would sell in 2 days. Shows what I know.

Had a friend over this weekend and next weekend and the welding has started. He's cut and replaced a part of the cross member inside the cab that runs behind the drivers seat.

I'm heading to the garage today to tape off the lights, windows, etc to begin a base coat of paint for Tuesday.

My reg job will have a lull until roughly May 15. If I can get the truck how I want it before then I'll probably keep it. Might be able to keep the troopy and the wagon. That would be a trick and I'm sure the wife will have some interesting looks for me.

Welding pics coming later today.

pics of welding work. Always more there than you think!

Taped off the outside and did a test area on the paint. Looks fairly good for the first coat. Like my ex....she looks great from 50 feet!

Everyone should know that I change my mind constantly regarding trucks so now I'm leaning towards keeping the V and selling the troopy that's coming in. It will literally probably be a coin flip in a few months as to which stays.

Painting the whole exterior white this coming Tuesday. Should get a few coats on. It's supposed to be 67 degrees then so perfect timing.

Front seat out for the moment. Might get it re-done locally along with the back seat.

lookin god what color and paint combo style you guna go with?
Jason

I'm going to keep it all white for now. There are a few areas that need to be sanded more later and skim coated to cover old paint chips. I'm going to paint all white then go back and do some small areas when time permits. Interior will be white with gray trim. Still up in the air with the 2 tone paint scheme on the outside.

FJ55 Pumpkin color maybe? Always liked that color.

My thoughts are that if I get it looking nice it'll be too tough for me to part with it and it will be ready to cruise in this summer.

New Plate

BTW, I was surprised this wasn't taken already. :)

Now I just need to drill holes so it can go on.

I'll keep it a V for now. Half of me wants the ease of having LHD and the other half likes the uniqueness of RHD. No one every asks to borrow a RHD truck!

I've scheduled the upholstery to be done on May 21. $250 per seat including vinyl, padding, labor, and painting seat frame. Getting the door panels done too.

I should start selling these as kits and put $OR out of business. Or maybe not...

Painted today

Did the prep on Sunday and sprayed it down today. Looks like an ambulance at the moment. Definitely need to do the 2 tone paint soon. Came out great!

I couldn't get the hubcaps on. Any thoughts? I used a rubber mallet, foot, etc and the clips were too rigid.
