The big weekend starts at noon tomorrow. Wife and kid are gone till Sunday at 2:30. I have a meeting at 10:30 then it's all 45 until the Patriots win the AFC at 4:30.

I scraped off the black paint on the inside of the windows (white trash window tint I guess) Very messy. Bought a new shop vac to clean up.

New black rims and tires arrived today from Summit racing. Great deal....yokohama 31x10.5x15 for mounted and balanced on black cragar spoke rims for just over $600 including shipping, Can't beat that! Bought the cragar center caps for the back wheels and I don't like the chrome. I might sand them a bit and spray them black. Cragar isn't paying me to advertise anything so screw them. Even got a free crappy hat!

Finally pulled the rusty bolts from the bezel. Back seat is coming out first thing tomorrow. A thorough interior cleaning will be followed by a healthy coat of red rustoleum primer. Then coats of industrial strength white on top of that. Tomorrow is the only day that will be sunny and above 50 degrees so I at least want to get it clean and primed. Maybe white paint on Saturday but I'll have to ask the weatherman.

Rims will go on too and hopefully an oil change.

Today went great! I pulled the rear seat out, headliner, and crosspieces that hold up the headliner. The inside of the roof had a thin layer of surface rust so I did a quick sand and hit it with the red rustoleum primer. I did the entire interior including the dash in primer red. I actually like the color and I'm considering keeping it like that. Sure is cheap to touch up!

Batteries in my digital camera died. I'll snap some photos in the am before I continue. Interior looks GREAT!

Tires, undercarriage paint, bezel paint, and finding headliner material are the goals tomorrow. Showers are forecast and the temp is going to drop so not sure what I can actually do. Check back tomorrow!!!

long weekend done!

GOt a ton of work done. Primed the entire interior. Took you the headliner. snaded inside the roof. primed the dash. removed the back seat. Painted the bezel. Painted the cruiser emblems up front.

I got the new tires from SUmmit racing and the back spacing was wrong so the rims scraped against the tie rod ends. Guess I need spacers.....hope that will do it.

Found a very nice teal color vinyl (marine grade) at a store down the road. I'm thinking of doing the interior in that and having the exterior a 2 tone match.

I was just informed by my wife that the teal color I picked is "Gay."
New color to follow. It's tough being colorblind!

Can I tag along :)

of course.......

I used odorless mineral spirits. I'm going to re-do the door panels so I didn't bother taping them off. I cleaned up the glass this morning....took about 20 minutes. Faster than taping actually.

I'm going to have to re-paint everything and probably do another primer coat eventually. I just wanted to stop the rust before it started.

FoxFab to the rescue!

I replaced the door strikers today that FoxFab sent. They worked out great. Thanks! Fixed the tailgate problem instantly!

Unfortunately the very last bolt is jammed up with the inner workings of the door jamb at the drivers door. The bolt is basically frozen halfway out. Luckily, I've ordered replacement hinge gaskets so I'll be taking the hinges off behind that bolt. Hopefully it's nothing big but little things like this add up quickly and I'm famous for ruining things and dropping them off at my mechanic.

I'm going to try the sample bushings on monday for the doors. Those should be a big improvement!

Looking great!! Can't wait to see more pics!!!

Looking great!! Can't wait to see more pics!!!

It's 8 degrees outside today (windchill of -10 to -20) so not much happening on the 45. Damn it's cold!

Bought rubber gaskets for the hinges, bushings for the doors, and OEM rims to replace the split AU rims that won't pass inspection here. Got BF Goodrich sneakers on them too. Bought the wheels from Crusier Solutions in NH. They are painting them original gray. Picking them up and getting the VIP tour of the HQ. Maybe I'll get a free hat! It's the little things.........

Decided on Durabak "Smooth" for coating the interior floors and roof innards. Got a sample in the mail and it looks great with no harsh texture. deciding between white or light gray color.

Can't wait to have more pics to post, believe me! Planning on having it presentable for the Yankee Toy Fall Gathering in September. Certainly in driveable condition before summer!

Don't believe so. I'll check the rims . I bought new rims and tires that I'll be picking up hopefully on Friday.

I'm heading to GA tonight for work and I'm going to try to hook up with Mebersfield to check out his LV tomorrow afternoon. I plan on stealing as many parts as I can fit in my suitcase!

Any new updates?? Know its been cold out there! :) Keep up the great work!
