does anyone know what these things are called? not the shackle part itself, but the part that the shackle bolts into which is welded to the bumper? i want to build my own bumper. the shackles are easily found on the web, but i don't know what the other part is called so i don't know what to search for on google.

i found an original Toyota microfiche for the 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser LV parts catalog which i had converted to .jpg files. 278 pages worth. if anyone wants a copy of the entire catalog send me a PM with your name and address and i will try to get you a copy on disc mailed out. i had been searching for the fiche for a while and finally found it. i then contracted with a data conversion company to convert it to .jpg files. the original printing is not real clear but it is really cool to be able to look at every little part on the LV's. it also covers the lpb's and the V's which is what they call the FJ40 i guess? too bad none of the parts are still available. this is an example i pulled off MUD from someone else, but the disc is the same. as long as i am not swamped with requests i have no problem sending them out for free. ;)

does anyone know where to get these or something very close? mine are not usable.

Mark, I'll be taking these off my LV. When I do, you can have mine.

No, the rear reflectors. And a long while back I was talking to a friend about reproducing the reflector lens, so maybe I'll give him a call again. One of mine is in good shape, the other has a small crack.

I'm sorry to hear about your back! I've been thru quite a bit of back treatments from a car accident back in '99. Hope the discogram shows good stuff! I'll PM you about the LV microfische, as it would really, really help me out! The booth/shop construction looks fantastic! Definately lookin' first class! Hope you're up 'n running soon!

Thanks for the kind works Jeff. I will know more Friday after I meet the surgeon but it does not look promising. Since the discogram last Friday, I have been basically out of commission. Let me know if I can help with the CD. Here are some pics of the PS bracket built by William Dorry a fellow cruiser freak. Thanks for building such a nice bracket. This bracket is extremely heavy duty. I did not measure it, but the steel has to be at least 3/8" thick. You can see a pencil I used for comparison. I will give it a once over with the grinder to smooth any rough edges and send it out to be powder coated with the frame.

I have basically modeled my construction on what I have seen on Matt's (aka buckroseau's) build thread with changes for our site etc.

basic 2x4 stick construction with TJI ceiling joists so it can double as a storage loft. Air flow will be a whole house fan that is about 4'x4'. Have no idea what the air flow is but I know those fans can suck a whole house so I am not worried about too little, but it could be too much so may have to work on that? The inside walls will be 1/2" OSB painted white. Lights will be 8'x2 tube flour. fixtures. Heat if required will be floor strip heaters. Size is 16'x23'. Main entry doors will be site built using square steel tubing and 4'x9' sheet steel for a total entry opening of 8'x9'. They will swing out. Due to my back going south I have not worked on the booth or LV project since before xmas so I don't have any other pics, but when we do more work I will take more pics.

Off topic....but I love the Camp Narrow Escape!! Definately quite cool! How did you find it??

I did not find it, I built it over the last 4+ years. Thanks for the complements. Now all I need is a cool LV for cruising on the weekends.

are you asking about the shackle eye?

here is a cool one

like the one you posted above

yep, thats what i was talking about. here is another source thanks to fj6202840. they are a little less money, but i like the way the tellico product is milled on the underside for ease of welding. those swivel ones look cool, but i wonder if they are really strong? add says they have to be bolted to 5mm or thicker.

also, can someone help with the paint question i posted earlier?

Were the LV's ever produced with a solid body color like the first picture of Bull's lpb vs. the typical two tones we are all familiar with?

no idea but all I have ever seen have been 2-tone
