Do you have any of the door stops on the other doors? The stop has an arm that goes through the door and the rubber bushing slides on to it then a nut goes on the end. The body side of the arm attaches onto the door pillar with two bolts.

Yes I do have some of the pieces, but not enough for the whole truck. I have seen Shane (Atlas) and SOR doing some repro talk and SOR shows one on their site, but they say it does not fit the LV. Not sure why, it looks like what I have seen.

rear reflector

does anyone know where to get these or something very close? mine are not usable.

springs

this is a copy of thread post, but i wanted to double post so it would be in my thread and hopefully get answered.

this whole spring issue for the LV's is giving me a headache. I have heard from several you you fellow MUDers that the original springs are good. others say to use new. here are some pics of mine along with a measurement from the ground to the inside of the arch. has anyone ever taken this measurement? or this measurement off new springs? i wonder how it compares. the first pic will be the fronts, the second will be the rears. the third pic shows the gaps in the springs unloaded. is this normal or an indication of wear? is it possible to look at springs and tell if they are worn or does it require more exacting science such as measurements or load tests?

i believe i am going to have the vent window frames chromed even though that was not factory. i just can't see paint holding up on them very well and feel like chrome would be much better over the long haul. what have others done about these axles bump stops? one of my rear lower shock mounts is bent, any ideas how to repair without sacrificing the strength? also, is the trim ring original to the LV?

how about some help guys?

I am trying to get all my parts ordered and need to know if these bump stops are important? Can I just use the std. ones shown on SOR web site that attach to the frame? Why did the LV have two bump stops on the same axle? One on the axle and the std. one on the frame?

Another 3 hours with three of us working on the spray booth. we finally got the entire thing framed decked and sheathed. This booth project is a little more than just a booth. I have been putting off adding a bathroom in the warehouse and we built the roof as a loft for storage so it is decked with 3/4" and TJI's. I figure if I get bored doing resto's I can always rent it out as a room. :) Next stage is wiring then we can get the inside covered. I am going to build the doors out of square steel tubing and sheeting. Nice and strong but not to bulky. It is getting frustrating doing all this work and not progressing on the Cruiser, but I want to do it right. I don't like having to work in half-assed conditions. I figure if I take the time now, all future resto's will go much smoother. Anyhow, here are a few pics of where we are. Anyone know anything about the bump stomps or the other questions I have asked previously? I can't get the pics to upload so it will be tomorrow before I can get more taken.

Possible source for Australian TLC parts. Listings for 45 stuff and 55 as well. Follow the links and let me know if anyone has used these people or heard of them before. May be nothing new, but I figured I would go ahead and post it.

Starting my 1966 FJ45 wagon project

Hey!

I'm about to start my 1966 FJ45 wagon project in about 2 weeks. Watching yours reminds me of how much work this will be. I still can't wait to do it.

My father lives in Roswell and I'm heading to Macon for work inthe next couple months. I'd love to check out what you've done and pick your brain for info!

Australian 45 parts

Just read one of the recent posts. There is a company in AU called 4X4dismantlers or 4wheeldrivedismantlers as an eBay screenname. They are near Brisbane I believe and they buy up old cruisers and part them out.

45wagon

I noticed you are Atlanta based. I am not, but flying in to see progress on my 65 wagon.I will be in Atlanta on the 12th in am. to see progress on my truck at southside offroad customs. If you are interested in getting together to talk wagons or if you need parts or whatever....

Udate

The latest update is unfortunately is not good news. My back, which has been giving me trouble for over 20 years, has finally given up and I think I am going to have to have surgery. We have not worked on the Cruiser project since Dec. 12th. We were working on the paint booth that day, the next day I could not get out of bed and it has been pretty much the same since then. I am going in tomorrow morning for a Discogram, which hopefully will tell the docs exactly where the problem is. Then they will advise me what my choices are. Bottom line is it sucks. Here are the latest pics of where we are with the booth. Fortunately I have the help of my in-house mechanic, but with me out and his normal work load fixing all the stuff my crews break, progress will be much slower. We also had one of the diesels crack a head so we are trying to get that fixed @#$%. Once that truck is back on the road he will start to work on pulling the motor and drive train out of the FJ55 so we can send all the parts out for media blasting, or do it our selves. Still have not decided on that, but with me out, subbing it out makes more sense. Once we get the frame back from the power coaters we will begin assembly, but it will be slow. Any how, here are the pics of the spray booth. The little room, which is actually a bathroom, is for now an LV parts holding room. It is going to be really hard not being able to get in on the project. I have a hard time watching, but that is the way it must be for now. :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:
