1966 FJ40 Dash Hole??

Any ideas what goes here (first pic, red circle)? Ive found a few pictures of 1966 FJ40's that show a large black knob in that location as well as a dial that looks like a "dimmer". To my knowledge, my rig never had a PTO, had the original Throttle, Vent, F.D., Choke, Key all in the correct spots. My rig also had a plethora of previous owner holes. Im doing a complete frame off restoration, and will develop a thread for it in the next week.

Not stock hole, so could have been anything a PO put there.
 
My guess is ejection seat: Very popular in the 60s. James Bond almost never drove a car without one. Cruisers were well suited to them given they were often topless and didn't come with seat belts until the late 60s.
 
If the hole looks like it was made with a chisle and hammer, it's not oe.
 
"Getter done" sometimes has consequences. Field expedient 30-06 AP round will drill nice holes.
