Just bought this truck locally today. Although the exterior looks rough, it is actually a mostly rust free vehicle, having spent its entire life in New Mexico. All original w/ 50,000 miles on 1f. Missing 2 pieces of flat glass. 3 on the tree. Has sat for 7 yrs., but motor runs . What is it worth? I want to know how I did. I will tell you later in the post what I paid, but don't want to tell you now and influence your responses. Thx! Dean

first of all congrats and welcome:flipoff2:

honestly boss, its worth what you feel warm and fuzzy paying. much past that it dosen't matter. i'll tell you i paid $1000 for mine without a motor, previously modified, seriously rusted, and sitting in a utah field for 10 winters. you can check my thread if you wanna see what i'm talking about.

as long as your happy, run with it and have a good time!

I agree with porten1134 ! but if I was to guess I would say 35 to 4 thousand, I would have tried to talk them down to under a grand. But it always depends on how bad YOU want it LOL. When the guy told me what he wanted for me 45 LWB PU he could have thrown out whatever and I would have paid hes price. Great find cant wait to see some pictures of the motor and inside. Where are you located ? again Great Find. Welcome

Great find. I am curious where you found this one in New Mexico. I know where one is stashed up, but the guy wasn't willing to sell, but it looks familiar. :hhmm:

We would have to know a lot more about it to offer a guess on how much it's worth. The point is that it is YOURS now! And like you've heard above, it's worth is based on YOUR value of it.

We own a 1967 45LV Wagon and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Well... almost anything.
:-)

Hope you start a rebuild thread on this. We'd love to follow your progress.

Best,

Answer to theQuestion

paid $700. purchased in el rancho,nm. 50,000 original miles. who wants to restore it for me?

restore it yourself!!!! you'll even learn something if your not careful!.

naa seriously, $700 for a running mobile is great. i do think you'll have a good time, learn, and be able to do what you wanna do with this thing if you do a resto yourself. it may seem a bit daunting at first. but if you were to simply unbolt a part, clean it up, lube it and put it back on you'd be suprised by what you can do. At worst you take a pile of parts to a mechanic. heck even just contracting the work yourself would probably be cheaper than a restoration by someone else.

whats your plan for this thing? daily driver, 'wheelin, project car kinda thing?

Good question. My current dd is a 1968 IH Travelette 4x4 which I love. I do want to drive this one as well. We will just have to see. First priority is a couple of windows and some rubber seals. Got any clues?
