1964 Generator

Yup that looks like the generator bracket, I think the straight adjustable on top is correct too. I converted my 63’ FJ45 years ago, and believe I have the 1963 generator in a parts box I could sell if it happens to be correct for your 64’. I don’t think I’m going back to that detail myself..

That voltage regulator looks like the original VRs that came with generator’d rigs. Is there any writing/stickers on it anywhere? This is a pic Mark @cppilot posted in @andybudge ’s ‘64 build thread noted earlier.

The motor number boss looks to be blank (red circle below). If so, then IIRC that indicates a replacement motor. If it’s not blank, does the number match the tag on the firewall?

What does the info circled in red below indicate (it specifies the block casting date, i.e. motor date)?

Here is the beginning of the tear down... bad cell photos, small shop

These hood latch bolts would not give, hopefully the mousemilk will free them up

...

Got it wrong it is not Dustin but Destin. I know he sold the 64 years ago and has been spotty on Mud since. Shows December was the last time he logged in. Wouldn't expect him to respond anything soon.

I went thru the big D back in the1980s. Things weren't good a few years before. If they were would probably have an 83 FJ40 I bought new. Wasn't until the early 1990s recovered.

I really not sure the one with the oval metal tag is correct. Thought the stickers were the newer ones. Only one I have any memory of is the one by itself. Believe it was part of a trade with a member who wanted a FJ25 PTO back he had previously sold me. Probably been over fifteen years ago since I got any of these. I know you would need one of these fuel pumps with the hand primer.

Plus this fuel filter if it isn't already there.

Missing the PCV that mounts to the oil fill.

It does look like the correct early starter.
