I would most definitely call that rig a blank canvas! If you had paid for it I would call it a money pit. But at least unlike some Columbian lipstick pig you can certainly see what you are starting with. Good luck. We look forward to watching your progress. You have a worldwide support group.

I got my first 40 fourty one years ago…and it needed an engine. I thought about a V8 briefly. And then I thought that, knowing my own proclivities, I should sort out the steering and brakes BEFORE I put an engine in it, so that I would know it was actually safe to drive when the inevitable itch hit from getting to turn the key for the first time.

That bought me the time to carefully consider the pros and cons of the engine options, rather than just throwing myself into a rabbit hole. The rest, as they say, is history.😉
