1962 Toyota Landcruiser
My wife and I are selling our dream project...

We almost completed the restoration, but life happens.
Body work is done; painted original "brown"; interior bed is rhino-lined black; new digital instrument cluster; new seat upholstery; all glass and doors are present; just purchased the electrical wiring harness and it needs to be installed along with the new seats.

For an experienced mechanic, this should be an easy set-up for a great vehicle. Like I said, this is my dream car and I hate to see it go. I can get pictures to you if you are interested.

Cool FST and cool old bits on it. always liked those elephant horns. darth vader has been replaced....

Looks like a later engine -- @tornadoalleycruiser could say so in a heartbeat.

Is that a 4 speed tranny?

Do you have the top, would have been a bunch of bows to hold the FST?

4barrel and 155 says way later engine. Ebrake move to a later handle that goes thru floor or just not hooked up yet? Shifter is most likely floor shift 3speed that came with that engine to change from column but way later 2piece shift cane says possibly late h42 4speed. Push button start? Price? Early tub for fj40, left over fj25 tub back b4 heaters were an option.

good luck.

They emailed me that hole was for a heater. Ouch. Definately not stock. Not sure what that angle iron bracket is on the fender either to the left of your circle.....

Great example of someone making their dream car and at this point it will be hard to get any $$$$ out of it. Key parts are not stock.

They said it ran and drove when they took it to the body shop. Looks like they did not pull fenders to do the paint job, as the inner fenders are not painted.

62 was pretty cool year if you have the top with the different door profile.

I don't believe that brown is an original color for a 62.
The hole in the firewall appears to be an easy fix. My 65 had a ragged, round hole torch cut through the firewall reinforcement rib. That was a little more of a challenge to repair.
In my opinion, your best option is to finish up the project and make it driveable before you try to sell it. Good luck.

Do you have better pictures of the 62 with the hardtop? Just bought a 62 body and I have that hardtop on my 66.

That hardtop only ran through mid-65 production. It’s either not original to your 66 or your truck May be a 65 build titled as a 66, actually very common. Is there a brass tag on the VIN tag?

No brass tag. My 66 is a soft top cruiser. The original owner wanted a hard top so he found a used one with the hard doors to buy. I have this 62 fj40 with tons of superficial rust because they sandblasted it and didn't primer or pain it. Body looks like yours. As you can see it also has the rounded doors.
