I have been doing some google jockeying and reading (slow work day) but I can't seem to come up with the manufacture of the new 8 speed that Toyota is using. So far the options reported in review are:
AISIN
Toyota "In House" (wouldn't that be AISIN anyway?)
ZF (90% sure that is not the right answer)
Based on This Wikipedia page it is not an an A series Toyota transmission (AISIN) - and because it is on wikipedia it must be true right? But the AA80E with some tweaks in ratio looks possible as does the AISIN TL-80SN.
