'11 460 - Bumper coming off

Those front connectors are gone on '14+ models without the options.

I actually have two used side mirror cameras (left and right) because I was going to do the front camera project. Some markets had a driver side camera as well for 10-19 models. The guy CL on who retrofitted the '11 with PCS and radar cruise could probably complete with front camera now since he has everything but as KJ6IRM said these mods are generally cost prohibitive overall.

I'm surprised those are there from a cost standpoint. Interesting.

Yeh it’s interesting what all you find out the more you delve into options in different markets. I’ve gotten so invested in my own retro that on one hand I’m like keep going and on the other I’m like how the hell did I get here 😂 but I really do love this thing! Need to spend more time on Mud!

I think it gets to the point of when the time and money out weighs the cost and ease of just getting a new/newer model GX that already has all these bells and whistles.
Personally I would LOVE all those options, e.g. dynamic cruise control, 360° camera, M/T, CC, etc.. When I was looking for my rig initially, I was looking for those features until I discovered that they just plain were not available in the U.S. So I just suffered through getting a Premium trim level which I'm very happy with!
Although, I do plan on adding the CC and M/T soon now that I'm back working again. But beyond that, I may just get a new GX when this wears out (in another 300,000 miles or so!!)

For those with this problem - has it gotten progressively worse? I've just noticed the issue on my driver side albeit very slight and depending on if it'll get worse, I'm debating whether or not to 3M tape it like one user on ClubLexus has...

In just months of ownership, mine has gone from the corner poking out to the corner and the neighboring 4-5 inches poking out. Granted, it might’ve been the dozens of miles of washboard I drove a few weeks ago 🤣

Has anyone used this method of fixing the fender issue?

If you've got steel bumpers, don't need them! Ha-ha! :p

😀Yes if I use a bumper that is a complete replacement that will work with the adaptive cruise radar sensor. I’m waiting to see the new Victory front bumper with hoops . If I use that one I will still need some of the old bumper including this section that is coming off.

Is the Metal Tech the only one that is a complete replacement?

Coastal makes a complete replacement as well but it is a kit . I’m not aware of any others.

Well my booger welding isn't going to be good enough for my front end... :)
I hear you! I have access to a awesome production welder but my hands are now stuck on vibrate mode most of the time so it does not leave a pretty bead despite it being a great machine. I also ran a pencil to it and after getting the kit delivered plus powder coated it is only about $600 cheaper than a built unit. I know how OCD I am ..... I will spend most of that in grinding supplies. If my time was only worth about a dollar an hour ..... Don’t get me wrong I think the kits are awesome for the right person.

Well it’s a bummer there isn’t a fix for this. I just picked up an extremely clean 2013 with 66k miles and mine is doing the same. Didn’t notice this while the truck was at the dealer but noticed when I got home; thought it would be an easy fix when killing the bumper cover off. Guess I’ll need a steel winch bumper now 🤣🤟🏼

Unfortunately I messed my front bumper up really bad when I totaled it last week. So now I’m looking for a new 10-14. Metal tech will fix your issue for sure. I have a Victory bumper on the way so I will be looking very closely at the new rigs I look at.

Been there done that! Damaged bumper then bought MetalTech steel bumper. Problem solved!

Any leads on a new GX?

As soon as I can get the insurance company stuff done I will be getting another one. I am going with a lighter color I think. I loved the FAP but it always looked dirty the Texas sun cooks it. Thanks for asking!

I, of course, have this same issue where the bumper upper corner keeps popping out on the passenger side of my 2013.

While I like the idea of the flat aluminum plate added to the grid area of the mount bracket, it doesn't look like this has done much to help that upper corner to stay tucked in. Do you all think that's more a result of not counter sinking the aluminum into the bracket? -- like, if that lower area is pulled in closer, the corner will also pull in closer, so perhaps will do the trick?

I have previously tried 3M VHB tape right at the corner, by it didn't help. I now have the bumper all the way off for installing a Victory Strike bumper, and I'd really like to get the upper corners of the factory bumper to hold tight right there. -- especially since I'll be chopping off most of the lower portion of the bumper to make way for the Victory one, so basically all that will be left is this upper corner section that already doesnt want to stay attached.

(In hindsight, I wish I went with a different after market bumper that replaced the OEM bumper all the way up to the headlights. )

So after the Victory bumper install is done and the original bumper chopped to fit, its been a couple weeks now, and the plastic seems to no longer be popping out under the headlight like it used to. Lucky me. :P (Sorry, I know it doesn't help any of ya'll with full OEM bumper still.) I do feel like it will just come back again though.. and if it does, I'll be trying the flat metal idea like was posted.
