I'm so curious to see what a cloth third row looks like

This is very typical of first-model-year Land Cruisers, Toyota seems more flexible on that first year than they do further into production. Lots of similar examples of late 1990/early 1991 FJ80s with the poverty pack and even more interesting examples of spec variations for early 1981 FJ60s.

Likely mine. Almost sold it again last week - but I just can't do it. Too unlikely to ever find one again - and that's where this thread will come in handy ;)

If you do change your mind, I'm actively in the market for a non-sunroof 100-series!

That goes for anyone in this thread - I'm a tall guy and the extra headroom is appreciated. I'd love to be able to actually join this registry as an owner! :)

I have no plans (yet) to go all out on the LX, so going the heavy-tubed rock sliders is not an option, yet. I cannot loose the factory side steps as of the moment, my wife and kids needs those to go up and down without hurting themselves, but would like to gain a few inches ground clearance. So with that being said, I am planning to go ‘poverty’ side steps oem style (similar with the GCC and Australian trims).

I honestly haven’t seen one here stateside, so I’m curious if anyone has used this (this one’s from aliexpress).. Or I may be wrong, I think I saw one or a couple off of an 80, doable to retrofit that to our Lx/Lc? Maybe, but I’d have to find one first.
Have you been able to find some of these side steps? I'd like some myself.

There is one product in alliexpress, but it looks like it’ll be coming all the way from China, and the shipping is almost $300. Just can’t seem to outweigh the cost vs the need for the moment.

I saw those too and felt the same about the shipping

I need somebody to sell me some of those glorious cloth seats when they part out their poverty pack 100! 😍

Add me to the list of people who would love to have those cloth seats.

+1 I would love to have some cloth seats. I don't like to drive off-road or AutoX in leather. I slide around on leather seats too much.
Man, you guys are nuts. My 80 series cloth seats doubled in weight from all the dog hair they attracted and retained. Dog. Hair. Magnets...

That hole in the door 😧

No sunroof? Now I know I wasn’t crazy when I saw one for sale like that in TX. Although it makes it look like an expedition inside with that center roof console

That’s crazy to see an LX with NO sunroof!

I know most of the 2000 and later Land Cruiser models that came in through SouthEast Toyota were optioned out like you couldn’t imagine! Every single option was installed, dealer profit is what my thoughts are about it. Even those stupid Bushwacker fender flares! Argh!

Having used to work in the automotive service industry for 18 years as a service writer for Honda/Acura the more “options” or “accessories” the higher the profit.

I've honestly considered trying to obtain a set of these. I'm not in huge need of a heavy duty slider, and I like the ROW look of these. I'm a big "function-over-form" guy.

Currently for sale in Hawaii.

That Poor Cruiser! Ah why does that have to be in Hawaii! I want to buy a cloth seat 100 series so badly, and this seems like the perfect candidate for sourcing a full cloth interior. This exact car, minus the front end damage is a dream 100 series for me.

I've spoken to the seller - he's still trying to sell locally. Should that not happen, I might bring it over to part it out if the interior were in good shape. It's a shame that the roof sheet metal is dented, but the headliner and and console should still be good.

Looks like I need to move to Hawaii
😂
It seems like half the Poverty Pack cars I see are located there. If you end up bringing it over and parting it out, let me know!
