It looks cool but is there anything that goes from side to side to connect the sides? Was that picture just of the side parts before any progress on the in between? If it has an in between expanded metal area i think it would be pretty nice especially with all those side slots for versatile tie down areas. Looks pretty cool!

Unfortunately, I did not have time to build the prototype for HIH, I will start working on it when I get back.

Unfortunately I have not had time to work on the rack. Really all I need
Is a full weekend and could likely have a prototype but just have not had the time.
I'm hopping for November or December but it all depends on my day job.
I have been brainstorming different light bar ideas that I think will be pretty slick!
I will keep the thread updated when there is some progress, sorry to keep you guys waiting so long!

Update? Your stuff looks pretty nice. I'm hopping to pick up a roof rack within a Month or two.

Sorry joe, I started the thread a little premature. I'm backed up with front bumpers and have not had the time to put toward the roof rack. I really need a roof rack as well so hopefully before the camping season comes.

No pics but I have been learning how to do my cad drawings myself so I finally have some drawings to go off of. I will be having my laser cutter cut the side rails in steel for mock up, once I have the steel prototype I can source a laser that can cut the 1/4" aluminum.
No promises, but I'm hopping to have a prototype mounted on my rig in 4-6 weeks. I'll update when I have some pics.

If you need some help with CAD let me know. My profession is a CAD instructor. I could probably do what took you many hours in just a few minutes. If interested shoot me a PM. Maybe we could work out a deal for a discount on some future products for my CAD skills.

Nice! A little late for me... I am waiting for shipment of a Gobi. I'm still super excited to see your work though! I've been researching bumpers a bit and when I have the cash you'll be getting my business.

I'll post picks when the rack arrives!
