I think the 1998-2002 are the same and the 2003-2007 are the same. You may want to check that so you don't end up with fit issues.

You may be right but I thought 2004 was the cut off. I'm no 100 expert so I'll rely on you guys to let me know. There is no easy way of doing the later 100s without careful surgery. I'm open to it but it requires a willing donor.

Design Comments:
I just went and looked at the console. On my 99' the wing sections left and right are topped off by the narrower upper section. It seems to me the full width lid as shown, would be trapped under this narrower top section. If there is some modification assumed and not obvious, let me know.
The shorter (12v) height would mean items placed on top of the lid would have to be removed to open the lid. This is a plus for concealment a minus for speed and ease.
I wonder if taller and no wings is more space and simpler. There is a dual lid top box that comes down and reduces the height, if it is retained. Most folks probably want quick bolt in install.

Yeah I noted that somewhere but forget the full width lid. The throat is only about 5" wide so the lid wil need to be narrow enough to hinge up. The sides are covered so that the entire top is flat and covered and even plane with the 12v aux port.
Items would need to be moved one side or the other in order to lift the lid.
Taller could be done but is more difficult considering the aux port.

For clarification - do you mean 1998-2002? I think 2003 was the changeover.

Likely yes, as I wrote earlier, I'm not the hundy expert.

Looked at the 1999, console box again.
Suggest you look at the tall option and consider it.
It seems that the 12v platform is 2" in depth (front to back). The height of a box would have to be capped below the lid box about 3" above the 12v level. Allowing for any lock or combo lock height clearance.
The access to the 12v would be a 2" by the full width and this 3" lock box height. This amount of space would allow even a man hand to plug and unplug adapters. Note that large items would not fit in this area with the lock box in place. Using the plug would be more of a cord out type of approach.
The tall fit approach would dictate that all items be in the lockbox and no wings. It however adds volume and be a very simple rectangular form.

The bottom of the LockBox will fit snugly into the bottom of the console. The top of the Lockbox is on the same plane as the 12v port.

My concerns about making this successful and getting the most people to actually purchase it would be:
* maximizing all useable space
* does not make currently available space unusable
* easiest to install
* easiest to assemble
* large enough to be useful
* keeping it at a price point that doesn't scare buyers away

Ok folks here is an update of what the LockBox will look more like. For reference, open your center console and look at where the 12v aux port is. That "step" where the port is WILL BE the same level that the LockBox will be at. This should give you a better understanding of the height. I have a couple of small details to work out to make my life easier after learning what I've learned doing the 80 Series LockBoxes.
Please keep in mind that this IS the design I'm going with. I'm not going to make it a square box or make it taller or what have you. I need to design this so that it has the greatest chance of success so changing it to suit one or two people does me no good. That being said I absolutely want to hear about any more suggestions you might have. Or really any comments before I build out the prototype for this.
