Are those the dealer-added fender flares that cause paint issues?

Yes. This is how mine came. I removed them and you can see where they once were. Its not terrible, but noticeable.....

if you do...post up year, price, mileage...ill try to take a look after my next meeting at PFO.

WHITE TOYOTA LAND CRUISER

I am almost positive this is the one that I posted a while back from Greenwood. I didn't have any pics though. Its a friend of a friends rig. Lady driven and never offroad.

Went and looked at it / drove it Wednesday. It's got some issues, but I've got some ideas for it, so I made an offer. He's out of town, but when he gets back, we'll see.....

Time for a lift?

When bouncing my rear bumper it takes more than a second or two for the truck to stop bobbing up and down....sign of bad shocks.

When cornering I have more "roll effect" than I would think is normal.....weaker springs?

My front end was aligned at 49 tire and then 6k miles later when rotating my tires the front were wearing funny....again bad springs not distributing load?

The truck absorbs bumps in a satisfactory manor but I was last driving a 4runner which are much lighter and stiffer IMO.

To my knowledge the suspension is all original....198k miles

Manufacturers state that shocks are a 50k to 75k wear item...I'd say 200K definitely deserves new shocks...no reason, IMO, not to replace the whole suspension and add some height.

yeah I knew I was way over on actual suggested mileage, just dont want to replace unnecessarily...however when I do I will definitely be going north with the truck height!

Slee 2.5 inch medium kit is what ive been wanting. (i dont foresee bumpers any time soon is why im not going heavy)

I just did the Bilstein Shocks and torsion tweak on mine.

Most of the suspension on a 100 is lifetime.....coil springs and torsion bars.

That said, not every 100 is the same.

When I did my twist, I was able to get my front 2" taller with my stock torsion bars than Greg is able to with his.

They can be taken out and reindexed, but new ones (OME or Ironman) are relatively cheap so I would not go to that much trouble.

If you EVER think you want a lift, go ahead and get it when you do the shocks as the Bilstiens are too short for a lifted truck.

my 2 hold ups with a lift were replacing parts that were still good and seat height for climbing in the cab (fixed with sliders)

I will have to research and weigh the cost of a 2.5 slee kit verse new shocks, ome torsion bar and call it a day. you and greg have different years? how can the same engineering create a 2" difference in height on the front end?

do new shocks and torsion bars give any rear lift. I have a slight stink bug and want to retain it as i like the braking/ride quality. I do like a level stance though.

Do the lift. Geesh you got 6k burning a hole in your pocket. Or I guess it is 5k after the sliders.

Can't remember if slee's kit includes diff drop but make sure you get it. Go look at my old 100 if you
want to see it.

Just do the entire lift. Not doing the rear coil springs would be way dumb if you go that far into it.

Good points from both. Nolen's done all the hard work for those of us who don't plan to wheel our 100s hardcore. His 100 suspension research recommends:

Front diff. drop (Slee or otherwise)
OME T-bars
OME 866 coils in the rear
OME shocks.

Even with my ARB front and BIOR rear, once I turn down the T-bars the PO had cranked up, the truck will sit virtually level....and it rides really nice too! Another plus is that the ride height in the front is not increased enough to where you need to replace your front upper control arms with an extended uniball design. OEM arms are sufficient.

Do it.

David...how much lift do you have?
