Wonder if the Slee override had anything to do with its premature demise?

I was just thinking that. I never had any issues with it until i put that override in. Makes you think...

The part they are saying went out is not mechanical...it's the ECU component that controls the AHC. 89290-60041. I can get it for $700 online. Will def need to have that professionally installed though, so looking at just under $1000.

I really am leaning toward the conversion to a traditional suspension, but am really nervous about doing this myself. This is my DD, and I rely on it heavily. Plus, the electrical side of it scares me a bit (disabling all the computer side).

How many 's of a job is a suspension install, assuming no AHC components are involved? I'm thinking I'll just drain it and leave the components bolted on. Maybe sell them, cause all the mechanical parts are still good...it's the ECU that's gone out.

Dealer reported the below codes:

C1713
C1731
C1732
C1733
C1734
C1751

Reported all sensors tested ok and operating properly.

The part they are recommending is 89290-60041

I've never done a T-bar suspension install myself, so Nolen would be a better source of information on that than would I. However, based on my observation of the work you've done on that 40, I would say you should have NO problem doing a suspension conversion. You gotta figure: it's just like anything else on a car. It's put together with nuts and bolts, and if you can do a 40 retoration, you can do a suspension conversion. Provided they're just a remove / replace like in the standard suspension, the rear springs are so easy to replace it's funny. As for the T-bars, that's a little more involved........I'm sure others on MUD have posted procedures, so you might want to search there. Nolen can also be a source of info on that.

2 banana on the install.

I would sell that stuff.

I don't even think its a 2 banana job. We switched out mine in less than 1.5 hours. We didn't do the torsion bars though. Seeing what you have ton to the 40 in a few weeks, I feel confident in saying you can change the suspension on the 100....

Just had a thought...doesn't the Slee AHC override 'lock' the system in position? Could i possibly reinstall that (as a short term fix to make it driveable), and lock it when the AHC randomly settled in the right spot?

Nope, my buddy was looking at this one when the guy in SC was selling...not a good sign to be back up for sale that soon

I do agree with that. If the maintenance has been done, I wouldn't think he could have done that much to damage it. Said he bought an 80 and wants to sell this. Said the CVs were rebooted and the bearings repacked. No idea about the TB/WP. Just passing it along....

Thanks Ron but I'm undecided and ordering the sliders first next week

Thanks Ron, but I can't swing that right now.

when ya'll put on your MT sliders did you have to/did you remove the sound damper on the passenger side frame rail?

thanks Ron....may go ahead and remove it while fixing my cat. converter rattle with some hose clamps....gotta love the faq
