Which is what most people do and which is why I am in business!

;)

In all seriousness, Toyota considers wheel bearings "life of vehicle" parts if maintained according to maintenance standards:

On the old solid axle trucks:

Bearing repack: every 30k miles or after significant water crossings.

Front axle rebuild every 60k miles.

Grease in knuckle through inspection hole every 15k miles.

For IFS trucks, Toyota mandates a bearing repack every 30k miles and CV inspection at every oil change interval.
Hell, I even had to replace the transmission fluid on my 120 after the last trip!

I didn't realize until now that 100/470 spindle has quite different physiology than the GX/FJC/4R spindle.
Here's the GX/FJC/4R spindle next to a clapped out unit bearing/hub ass'y. I keep at least one pre-assembled unit bearing in my truck always...because 20T presses are hard to pack.

Back on the road today after new passenger knuckle/spindle assembly, two new CV axles, new passenger drive flange, new bearings and races on both sides, and new seals/gaskets for everything...

The front end feels smoother for sure, bearings and races were shot. Bearing service is on the regular rotation from here on out.

Thanks again @beno

That's for greasing the spindle inner bearing not the wheel bearing.

I started my sleeping platform today. I finished the base and now just have to decide what to do with sides and front portion over seats. I made it in 2 pieces to make it easier to remove. Used 3/4 plywood for bottom and sides and 1/2 for top. I will probably coat it with raffle can bed liner. I still also have to remove some of the plastic covers and junk in back that make them lie a little crooked.

I got in a hurry and doubled the cut I needed for the back, leaving about a 3/4 gap. I used a piece to fill in the gap in the middle but I may actually use the 2 gaps to each side of the spacer to slide in and out supports for the front portion that lays over the folded seat. This may keep me from having to hinge that piece.

I worked more on the front portion that goes over the folded seats. The sliding supports that I came up with work well. Luckily I had a piece of 3/4 plywood the trim carpenters left. It lays flat and I am able to lay in the back comfortably. Now I just have to figure out paint vs bed liner. I picked up some gray hammered rust oleum to test out.

Thanks. I was going for a fairly light weight modular system that could support my fat butt. It can all be out in about 2 min and stacked in a corner. I originally was planning on doing the style with hinged wings and front panel, but I don't need the wings for sleeping room and this offers more flexibility. I think they may even fit in my 4Runner.

I wasn't really happy with the test rust oleum, so I may move on to rolled herculiner. The rustoleum rattle can bed liner didn't say anything about use with wood so I don't plan on using it.

Due to fender flare fading and other fading / chipping, many of us have looked for bumper and cladding color codes before, but no one has ever found them. Someone on MUD just posted these for 2000 and 2004 models (and you gotta figure if you have another year model with the same color, the bumpers and cladding will likely be the same color) Now, if someone could find the color code for OEM wheels of different years..........

Throwing this out there before it goes public...(found a different rig that I want)

Long story short, Hinds County Sheriff's Department seized this truck in 2004 with a little over 100k on it and they drove it until I bought it. There are over 20 pages of maintenance records that you can dig through and try to figure out. After seeing it for years around Raymond, I bought it from Hinds County a few weeks ago. In the last few weeks, I've added:

-new windshield
-new battery
-new BFG KO2 295/75/16s (49 Tire)
-two new master keys (cut by Gray-Daniels)
-new Pioneer Bluetooth stereo
-new muffler
-new center console hinge (Toyota)
-new front left turn signal assembly (Toyota)

Good running truck with a lot of potential. At a minimum, it needs: a/c serviced, valve cover gaskets, and possibly lower ball joints. Has some dents and dings and the tailgate (lower) has a dent in it, maybe a paintless dent removal guy could fix it? Front and rear bumpers have scrapes, but I was going to put Slee bumpers on it (but geologic has some nice factory ones he may sell). Interior is tan and is pretty good. I've removed the running boards and turned the T-bars to level it some.

Will have title in hand as soon as it comes back in the mail from the county (any day)

$4900 before I add or fix anything else on it. (near Flora, MS) 6 oh 1 7 two 0 4 five 65
