hey guys. I'm in Jackson for work and either my alternator has gone bad, or my battery has. I had to catch a ride to work tonight - truck wouldn't crank.

anyone have a 100 series alternator laying around? otherwise I'll just get it to herrin-gear tomorrow AM, I guess.

Thanks

Supposedly it's a pain to bolt Into the truck as well. Unless you got one of the ones where he bored out the mounting holes before shipping.

Just to clarify, Paul's was the only system that went out without the slotted mounting holes. The design was changed after that install.

That's crazy that he made the bottom portion (under the drawers) solid. Extra weight that serves no purpose. Couldn't see that with the drawers already installed.

It actually does serve a purpose. There is a lot of leverage pulling up on the bottom sheet with the drawers extended. I could cut out a few relatively small holes to "lighten" it, but most of the material is needed for structural support. The weight saved would be very slight. I am working on ways to save weight without compromising strength, but there's always a tradeoff- strength, cost, etc.

System looks good. Nice job guys!

Hey guys- I just noticed that the locking drawer slides were installed upside down. The one for the left drawer is on the right side and vice versa. To unlock them you will push down, not pull up. They also appear to be sticking out too far, it's hard to tell from the picture. You can also adjust the drawer faces to get a more even gap all around.

Agreed on the bottom needing to be solid. The Baltic birch is awesome for this application. The one that I put in the lexus straps down to the 3rd row seating supports with small turn buckles and I still think a bottom is necessary. Just like a regular cabinet the strength and rigidity come from the large pieces that cover the most area. In this case the top and bittom. What thickness is the birch ply?

Like I said earlier, we got the outside verticals backwards. Didn't realize until it came down to putting the drawers in.

I offered to tear into it and fix it but everything worked by flipping the drawer faces except the locking slides.

Not sure why you have locking slides AND the awesome locking handles.

Sorry we didn't do it right. Anyone with the ability to build and produce something this awesome likely goes insane when a salesperson installs it wrong.

It's all good. As long as Julius is happy, that's all that matters!

Now you're really going to hate me... but... I can't tell if it's just a bit of distortion in the photo, but it looks as if the whole system is bowed from left to right. Maybe, perhaps... did you guys leave the outboard seat plates in by any chance? The only thing I can think of is that the outer edges are sitting on something rigid, causing the system to bow like that when the mounting bolts are tightened. As you know, it's built like a brick ****house, so it would take some serious force...

Yes, the slides lock out when on a hill, and also lock halfway out. Saves your fingers from getting crushed!
Yeah, I talked to Julius about the seat mount plates. He says they're still under there on the outsides. It's prob causing the bow. When the memory of the pain subsides, hopefully you guys can pull them out:)
