STEP 1 Make the victim think you aren't selling because this is THE CRUISER.

STEP 2 Victim is aroused and curious as to the emphatic declaration "it's not for sale"

STEP 3 Set hooks in Victim with inticing tidbits that they THINK they are asking to worm their way in, when you set this trap 5 post ago.

STEP 4 POUNCE and complete the reverse psychological attack on said victim.

Nolan saying something isn't for sale or that he isn't shopping is about as truthful as saying we aren't a drinking club with a land cruiser problem.

Nicely done. Everything is for sale. True.

Since all I do is drive it to football practice I guess the truth is I will sell this one when something better comes along that I gotta have.

If u know what this is and need it, it's yours at the crawl.

Shackle mount that bolts in place of the OEM tow hook? I could definitely use it!

Sure you don't need it?

At second look, I think it's a replacement for rear 80 or 100 recovery points.

I think I'll add a bit of tech for a change

Couple things I wanted to sort out today.

First was the spacers then the 860 to 866 rear spring swap.

Spacers first.

So, since I rotated tires I've had a shimmy. It was the spacers for sure. Took them off and smooth as glass.

So, why no shimmy before? Well, it's because we did not use the hub centric method to install the wheels to the spacers.

This is how it's done.

1) install spacers.

2) install long lug nuts into studs on spacer

3) install wheel

4) crank a couple OEM lugs in

5) remove long studs

6) wheel is centered

Ok, that said, there were some things I didn't love about the way the spacers felt when driving.

Under acceleration it often felt light in the front and there was a bit of play in the steering going over road joints like bridges etc

The truck feels lighter for sure with the spacers off.

Now it basically comes down to looks whether or not I reinstall them.

This is before ... With spacers

I really like the look with spacers, however it will increase rock chips....... Plus you have to go back and put them on when it's hot as hades outside.

And how often do you really look at it from that angle?

Final answer Regis..... Leave them off.

And by the way........ We know these pics are all part of the subliminal sales strategy!!!

Second thing I did was swap the OME 860 springs for OME 866

Pre-swap, center rear fender lip was 38" to the ground with OME860

Post-swap, center rear fender lip was 37" to the ground with OME866

So, I lost an inch. Truck still sits slightly nose low, but I can always lower the torsion bars or add a spacer.

As you can see, the 866's have a lot more beef to them. They are progressive coils that bear more weight and squat less with a load.

That said, starting out 1" lower, I'll likely have to lower the front so it will sit like it does now under load

Nice write up Nolen. I'm in the same boat w the spacers. They make the truck look way better but do change the way it drives for sure.

Slee's spacers are 1.25" and are hub centric, with a lip that fits over the hub to keep it centered. Those should theoretically balance properly, but I'm hesitant to buy them because of the way they might change the ride.

I'm definitely digging the 866's. Get you a 30mm trim spacer and take the rear back up an inch in height instead of lowering the front?

I think the way to go is to add height instead of take away, I agree. That said, I'm going to load it up as is for Crawl and see how it does first. Worst case, it's ass low.

Last thing I did was add constant 12v in the rear for my ARB cooler.

The plug is all cheese so I need to replace it with something better. I need a double plug.

I ran a 10 gauge wire direct from the battery with an in-line fuse.

Nice. BlueSea all the way for plugs, switches, fuse blocks, etc. All my stuff came from there. Mounted up in the front part of the drawer system.
