Hey everyone! Just to let you know production on the first batch of 03+ Model years is spooling up now. I’m still waiting on an exact date from the laser cutter but the parts are in line waiting to be cut, bent, and then powder coated. I’ll be working on batches of hardware while the parts are being cut.

Thanks to everyone who got in on the first batch. As soon as this first batch of 03+ goes out I’ll be making smaller batches of both year models (10 or so) as ppl request them. I’ve been hesitant to make this run too quickly as testing has proven difficult, as some of you know (looking at you FedEx). It’s taken a while but I wanted to make sure everyone is pleased with the end product. I’ll post ETAs as I get them. Thanks again!

I was able to test a set of these brackets over a 10 day road trip out west. I received a set for my rig a day before I departed so I was super stoked to get them in. I had some miscommunication with the vendor and received a set for the earlier model and I have a 2006.

I was able to make some modifications to the drivers side bracket similar to his first batch he's sending out now. @hotdiggitydamn was super responsive and accommodating of the mix up. He shipped a prototype of the drivers side to Utah along my route so I could test it. Talk about some great customer service!!!

Unfortunately FedEx was late, but the modified first Gen bracket worked and the shelf gave me way more room around the cabin.

I was able to keep my chairs, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, lights and bread for the trip up there. Everything was super secure with no rattles the whole trip. You can rock the truck by pushing the shelf.

Thanks again for the great mod!

I didn't read this entire thread. What's the word on a rack with the uneven handles of the earlier years?

Not to be a Debbie Downer but if the curtain airbags deploy from above the 3rd row handle, it could be of concern. If it does, I might consider disconnecting the curtain airbag and putting a resistor in place. But if it's one circuit for all curtain airbags, I probably wouldn't do it.

The later model years are being produced now. The first 20 sets anyways. They should be cut tomorrow and powder coated in the next week or two. Then out the door. After that I’ll be doing batches of 10 of each model year at a time.

I’ve made some changes to the mounting standoffs to make them more simple. This will dramatically improve how fast I can get batches out. I hope to get this batch out in 2-3 weeks then immediately work on batches of 10 each. I’ll keep ya posted here.

Could I prepay? Would love to just get you the money and then be surprised whenever I get it in the mail.

I’m sorry I don’t feel comfortable with peoples money before I get them the product. These will start getting made a lot quicker now I promise!

I'm really looking forward to getting these!

I am stoked to have mine installed.

I want to give you props @hotdiggitydamn for eyeballing what we were doing and coming to the preverbal market and designing something that is SO STINKING functional and handy!

I keep forgetting to get one of the slider bin mounts from the Container Store!

Not going to lie... I keep look at the deeper "basket/shelves" and wondering what it would look like in my rear view, lol...

I need to drop off the list for a set for 99lx470.... The wife doesn't want a rack there! Sorry about that!

Awww man, sorry to hear it. I love this thing!

If it helps your case it’s barely if it all visible when looking through the rear view mirror.
I’m 6’4” and look through my mirror pretty level also.

Just a thought…

Got the 18” x 48” shelf ordered and got the paper towel holder. Just need the brackets for my 2007 100 series. Any update on production?

Thanks,

Todd

This might be weird, but I bought one of these 8" deep basket shelves. I'm going to cut the top half of the back of the basket off so that it has a larger opening, and I'm hoping to put larger stuff like sleeping bags up there. We'll see how it goes... If those brackets ever get made. I'm just pulling your leg @hotdiggitydamn. But seriously, hurry up. 🤣

I saw that deep shelf on the Container Store site and was very interested, looking forward to seeing it mounted up and how you use it.

Please add me to the list for 99 LC, thanks!

+1 for 2006 LC
