Anyone tried to make the drivers seat move back alittle more than stock? I'm not all that tall but it feels like sometimes it would be more comfy if I could move it back some more...

I know of a few people who've made their own mods. There's a local Toyota 4x4 guy (Luke Porter @ 4x4labs) who has fabricated a bracket that will allow for the seat to be moved back quite a bit more.

I sat in a rig with a prototype and the extra legroom is very nice!!!

I've been meaning to call Luke get a price and an estimated completion time -- maybe this is a good way to find out how much interest there is in getting a few brackets made up.

I don't have any pics to share, but am willing to do the legwork for the group.

Who's interested? I know price will be a deciding factor for most and will provide info as I get it. This would be a bolt-on solution.

I'm only 5'10" and feel the same way. I do remember someone posting on this topic a while back, but can't remember what the outcome was. IIRC, he had to remove the braces/rails and reweld them a bit further back. You may be able to find it with a judicious choice of keywords in search.

While tempted by the thought of just a couple more inches of room, I don't think I want to be welding on the floorpan of my truck since it's not a beater yet. My luck, I'd end up hitting a fuel line and doing the Flaming Homer.

depending on price, ease of mod and the price of tea in China I'd be intersted...Ok actually disregard the POTIC part.....Rob M Concord, MA

6'4" and yes depending on price I could be interested including the POTIC.... :D

How about I did and of the 62 posts in the 80's section for with keywords "driver" and "seat", none of them are about moving the seat (except this one). Besides that, most of the pics from old posts aren't there anymore.

Man . . .

Sorry I couldn't resist that last post while I got the pic together. Basically what I did was to take apart the rails and then grind off 2 bumps within the rail that restricted it's travel. I then made a shim of sorts that would raise the front of the chair so the motor assembly could pass of the hump in the floor and also allow the nut assembly for th elead screw to be positioned 2" back. This setup basically move the seat 2" back on the rails which are still bolted to the floor in the same place. Due to liability concerns I haven't made any more than the one I have.

You guys must have very long arms. Where's a telescopic steering wheel when you need one?

Luckily I'm built like a chimpanzee, 36" legs and 38" arms. That's no s***! I was an usher at my brother-in-laws wedding and the tux company had to cut off the cuffs of one shirt and sew them on another like extentions so the shirt sleeve would be long enough to look right for the photos.

I'm interested also.
