This sounds like a great solution to something we all have no control over - keep me informed!

drive a 40 or 60 and youll feel like you have more room :)
or a corolla. drove my inlaws corolla 6 hours to pick up the 80, the 80 felt real nice on the way back.

Phew... I was starting to wonder if I am some sort of circus freak. I'm 6'3" and have no complaints about leg room. Mine is a 93 with manual seats.

I'm not sure which of us are freaks, but Im 6'4" 93 manual seats and I'm ready to relocate them or cut out the floor and go flintstone.

I drove a 91 a while back and it does have more room than my 96 w/standard electric seats but not as much as the modded ones. Look at the track carefully. I've modded 4Runner manual seats quite easily by grinding a limiting pimple that was stamped into the track. I'm sure you guys with the manual seats can do something along those lines to help with leg room.

There's a BIG difference between 80's with manual seats and power. I'm 6' 3" and my old 92 was a breeze to step up in. Getting into my 97 on the other hand, I have to tilt my head as far as I can to the right and contort my upper half so as not to smack into anything before I sit down. I forgot I wantgd to find out about the seat mod. Thanks for looking into it Doug!!

There's a hump on the floor that the power seat mechanism hits. The bracket allows for the seat and mechanism is miss the hump -- thus giving you a couple more inches. The manual seats don't have an issue because they don't have all the extra stuff underneath.

I am definitely interested in the possibility. I am ~6'5" or better (all legs) and my only complaint is the seat is a little close to the dash on long trips.

So with all these folks interested (including myself) in this mod, did anyone come up with a purchase on the parts? Or was it a PM thing?

Also interested as I routinely go to push the seat back further and it's already all the way back.

BTW, since my arm's length distance is good as-is, has anyone researched a telescopic steering column? I wonder if a 100's could be swapped in with minimal trouble or if it would be a complete nightmare.

This thread was linked I might as well let everyone know that I have enough for 10 chairs of the seat mod that I designed comming in. The parts should be here by weeks end and I'll have pricing then.

With the success of my rack gaskets I might have to bundle the 2 together

I've been wondering why I feel slightly cramped in my 97 vs just right in the 93 when the seat's all the way back. For whatever reason, there's just under 3/4 inch less travel in the 97 - I just took a tape measure to it.

That's cool Landtank. I think a lot of folks are quite keen to stretch the ole legs a tad. Heck even mine get cramped up there. If I don't respond to your post, please shoot me a pm cause I'm interested

dude...put me down.....

dammit...start another Vendor thread.....dammit again.....lol

put me down too. My knees can't take it anymore. I shift my OD button on and off every time I shift my arse the way it is now.
