Ive posted this one before in the 70 forum to a mixed reaction, some say it has too much bling. However I think its one of the best Ive seen and its difficult going away with a family if you dont have a few creature comforts.

Its a HZJ75 with a turbo 1HZ,ex govt vehicle now owned by a local 4wd accessory shop.
Its designed to take their family of 2 adults and 2 children into remote areas and be self sufficent for a couple of weeks.
Its equipped with just about every extra inc hot showers, inverters and dual fridges on slide out trays.

Those lift up doors fitted to the troopy were a $20000 conversion when the govt bought them:eek:

 Thats a pimpin' expedition ride there.

Very cool thanks for sharing

That's the "Michelle's Sacs" showcase rig, isn't it? Australian 4WD Monthly had a feature on this rig. It's *extremely* well thought out and implemented. I have to agree, one of my top expedition rigs!

That is a really sweet rig. I'd drive it

Yep thats correct. Michelles Sacs have their business close by.
I forgot to mention its running on leaf sprung 80 series axles. It also won top 4wd in one of the local mags.

Im no a big fan of the lights on the roof or the polished tyres:princess:but I especially like the gull wing access doors. In its previous life it would have been Linesmans or telephone exchange installers DD .
Some other close ups.

The troopys have a lot of headroom and work well with an o/head console. I hope those switches are not as crooked as they look:rolleyes:

2 cool ...

Michelle's Sacs is the company that owns it and they specialise in a wide range of canvass seat covers and other canvass products for 4wds and the cruiser is a rolling advert for their company.

I like the gray seat bodies, it's the headrest that makes me chuckle.

Do you mean the red thing.? I dont thinks its a headrest, their children are quite small and dont reach that high.
I think its another one of their specialised canvass bags

Favorite "expedition rig"... The one that takes you on your favorite "Expedition" of course. Had a guy up here (Alaska) decide one week that he wanted to head down to the tip of South America and come back eventually. He took his beat to crap rusty old stone stock FJ60. Made it just fine. He could just as easily have taken an old Ford LTD station wagon. Don't get too wrapped up in the rig, or you'll overlook the importance of the trip itself.

Mark...

There wouldn't be much left on MUD if we all played by those rules:D

This is my favorite expedition rig.
