I wanted to keep the OBD port available for service, so I hacked the fuse box cover (relocated the fuse diagram to the owner's manual). Ran the wiring behind the plastic and mounted the gauge below the rear heater switch with velcro. Wire comes up between the shifter console and the dash. I can remove it quickly for parking lots, simple glance down and I can see it very well. I need to do some detail work on the fuse cover to make it pretty, but you get the idea.

What's the little red button for?

Also, why not just loosen the two screws holding the ALDL in place and move it further back to gain clearance rather than hacking the fuse panel cover?

You can't mount it further back, it's either where it is or just hanging loose behind the fuse panel.

Red button is self-destruct.

Pure savagery...I love it!

Ouch, that hurts to look at please file the edges... LOL! You are going to hate me when I post a photo of what I did... It cost me less than a buck and took about 20 minuets

Sure you can... it's easy enough that even I was able to do it! A couple of "nylon" 1/2" spacers and a couple of longer screws from my local hardware store; plus a few minutes of fiddling with it, and sure enough... the fuse block was far enough back to allow the ScanGauge plus to go rigt in and the cover to go back on!

I'm just going to point out that this thread is 3 years old (exactly!), and that this was probably one of the first Scangauge installs on the board, so not everything we know now was known then.
