What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

I installed 555 inner and outer tie rods with some new rack boots. Did the alignment by myself with a tape measure! Then had my buddy laser align it and it was almost dead on with my tape measure.

    2UZ-FE Normal Operating Temperature

Everything you have mentioned I have done. Although I will do some more bleeding. My gold 100 series was always nice and cool and had not had any replacement parts except maybe the clutch fan. I’ve had to top the coolant off and never bled it! Great temps as well 190F. There is a big difference...

    2UZ-FE Normal Operating Temperature

I have been battling high ECT in my ‘99 LC since last summer. The lowest it ran was 194F. It’s currently running 203F on highway and stop and go is going up to 215F!! My kids are getting red!! AZ with 115F ambient temps. At midnight it’s still 100F out! Modified Aisin clutch fan with 40k...

    EFI Relay NO START FIX!!!

Hello all! We have all had at one point in time the infamous EFI no start issue on our 100 series. Sometimes it comes at the worst of times and it’s random. Well it happened to me right before a big trip and we were scrambling to try to get it fixed. Sometimes it’s as simple as pulling out the...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

New Aisin t bet kit and water pump. New serpentine belt, idler, tensioner, aisin fan bracket, aisin clutch fan, OEM radiator hoses and clamps. OEM SPEC metal heater tee’s. Fresh coolant. Poly rack and pinion bushings installed. Man it was a lot of work. Proud of myself and glad the truck has...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Finally put on some MT’s. Unfortunately I didn’t see that they were cupped very badly. Still have 13/32” tread in the high spots. Going to see if I can continue to drive them and smooth a bit.

Finally replaced my steering rack LX470 100 series LC

OEM fluid is $4.96 a quart, you can’t go wrong. You will spend $8/qt for the Dex stuff, which I don’t run in my Toyota’s. It’s probably more important to use an ATF rather than power steering fluid

Finally replaced my steering rack LX470 100 series LC

Thanks!!! I did think you needed tech stream but I’ll do the gravel method for sure!

Finally replaced my steering rack LX470 100 series LC

Thanks!! I did post this on FB. I have always gotten lucky when changing steering rod ends on my other vehicles. This method could save some money if done correctly. The speedometer stopped working at 317,469. I haven’t put much on since then, so I would guess 325k

Finally replaced my steering rack LX470 100 series LC

Stabbed the steering shaft dead on!!! Drives straight as an arrow. Might not need to have it aligned at Bell Lexus but still may have it done.

Finally replaced my steering rack LX470 100 series LC

Everything bled properly using Toyota TYPE 4 ATF. I do want to point out that the high pressure line on the rack needs a new o ring. Be sure to have an oring kit on hand. Also even though I purchased the rack and outer tie rods from the dealer, I was not supplied with any jam nuts for the inner...

Finally replaced my steering rack LX470 100 series LC

Hey guys this is my first post. So I have been sourcing OEM parts to replace the rack and pinion as well as the power steering pump and reservoir. New OEM tie rod ends and the hoses from the reservoir as well. The job went fairly well for my first time doing it. I am fortunate to work in a...

    New 100 series owner AZ

Hey guys. Just wanted to introduce myself and the new purchase. 2002 LX470 316K that seems pretty well maintained and seemed to be garage kept. Its the smoothest vehicle I have ever owned, coming from a 3 LS400's and an '82 2JZ swapped Cressida wagon. Upon a quick visual inspection there's just...
