    Intro - new 1966 FJ40 owner

I got called out for the bezel being flipped when I first posted. I made sure the wide part was on top within like a day (who knew?). I thought it had a 350, but looking at the numbers it actually has a 1968 Chevy 307 in it on the stock 3 speed with the Downey kit. Im sure that conversion...

More pics. The Land Cruiser museum was really cool to see other FJs like mine (but not quite like mine?).

    Intro - new 1966 FJ40 owner

Just wanted to attach some quick pictures from my summer adventure. I bought a new RV and needed a vehicle to tow and drive to the mountain bike trail head, which is why I settled on the FJ. I basically spent the summer travelling all over the west, and spent a month in Spokane in the...

Help with Right Blinker not working...

That pic would have definitely saved me a bit of wire tracing. Good to know, thanks for confirming!

Help with Right Blinker not working...

Yeah, i used this one https://globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/fj40/schematics/FJ40/1963-67_FJ40/pre1972_FJ40_wiring_diagram1.png and this one https://globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/fj40/schematics/FJ40/1963-67_FJ40/pre1972_FJ40_wiring_diagram2.png printed out and laminated on a 11x17 sheet...

Help with Right Blinker not working...

Not intentionally trying to revive old threads, but post #19 is the one that helped me fix my blinker issue on my 66 FJ. I spent a LOT of time undoing the PO's electrical work-a-arounds (renegade wiring, wires that dont go anywhere, bulbs that were soldered to the housings, wires clipped into...

    FJ40 Turn Signal issue

Great info. Im still chasing down and reversing PO's "fixes", lots of spliced wiring and solder everywhere. Finally got headlights and dash lights to work; brake lights only work when pedal is pressed down. No turn signals/parking lights/rear lights. I do have the wiring diagrams, so...

Wanted [TX] FJ40 3 speed PTO cover

Removing the PTO from my 3 speed, I need the cover for the transmission to put in its place.

I have decided not to run the PTO winch for various reasons - I need to remove the PTO side off of the transfer case and just put a plate on. Does anyone know where I can get just the plate/gasket?

Oh man, that is awesome. I was chasing the electrical last night and turned the wiper switch on and heard the motors humming, so it looks like I just need the blades and should be good to to. EDIT: They had wiper blades for a 66 in stock! I think the only difference is they are 12" vs. 11"...

Good question about the wipers - I just got the arms with it, not the blades... I will look into the VW ones. Thanks for the part number on the junction boxes, went ahead and ordered a couple. Also talked to Lou and got the bypass hose for the trans/transfer case. Will need to fix the...

Every screw on that bezel except one is stripped out and heavily rusted, so its probably been on upside down for 20+ years. I have to bear the burden of shame for someone elses mistake for now... I did order another rearview from custom cruisers, but definitely will hang onto the old one just...

Apologies in advance for overloading you guys on pictures, but this is probably the best place to get any info on it. The serial number is FJ40~55599 (EDIT - under the hood, it shows 35399 - apparantly I cant read) , was right next to the bumper. It looks like the bumper is riveted on? Best...

Engine bay - the wire on the air cleaner was running along side the drivers side header and melted. Yep, its all white... Leaking at the bottom of the front silver part.... Im lead to believe thats the transmission fluid leaking into the transfer case which is overfilling it. The frame/body...
