These engines haven't suffered from the same level of valve gunk as other DI engines. If it does need a cleaning, then the intake manifold can be taken off in about an hour to clean the valves. The 8 speed had a shudder which was fixed with a tune update (Recall) from GM, and the 10 speed so...
I'm not 100% sure if our adapter will work with that combo, however I do know that HP Tuners just released support for the E90 ECM that controls the engine. The only issue is that the E90 ECM is constantly looking for the BCM and needs CAN inputs for every function, which makes it a really...
Generally speaking any year gen V will work, but do your homework on electronics because they are different. We find that any of the truck 4wd versions with 8/10 speed transmissions will fit best, because of the oil pan design, etc.
@haulin auss
1. The adapter doesn't need the output shaft trimmed, just needs to be a 4wd transmission
2. We have installed this kit with an LT1 and 8 speed as well as 10 speed. You can modify the LT1 manifold or you can install hooker manifolds.
3. We use a SPAL PWM fan which is controlled...
The wiring can be the same, only the early 1HD's had the round plug. This 96 likely has the same oval plug as factory, and I don't think the pulley needs to be changed
The LS3 works best with the 6L80, the gen V engines are made to work with the 8 and 10 speeds better. The computer languages are basically different, meaning it’s just more efficient for them to match. There were a few Gen V engines that used the 6 speed transmissions but mainly the 6 liter in...
