Interesting, the tag on my dip stick is pretty much gone but what remains looks similar in color to what is shown by @terrapin. I put 7.5 quarts in and that has always brought the marking to the middle. I am about 500 miles from an oil change and just checked the level cold - right in the...
The real take away is that we take our vehicles in for service and expect that the work was done correctly. That is not always case. And unfortunately we rarely take the time before leaving the shop to verify. That has bitten me several times. I now try to remember to verify what service was done.
If I am understanding correctly when you tried to remove the drain cap you could not. So then used the filter socket and removed the housing without draining. That must have been quite the mess.
The mess aside I would try a couple of things. First try a cheater bar. Having more torque often...
That is typical of smalls claims court in all states. One gets a judgement but enforcing it, if not paid requires a second suit. The second suit will be in the form of writ then allows the sheriff to seize assets. I have been SCC a couple of times, in one case after the judge issued the...
Hang a piece of string with a cork from a wine bottle on the bottom from the ceiling of the garage. Adjust the length so that when cork hits the windshield the vehicle is at the correct location in the garage.
For those needing lots of beverages what I do is take a second cooler. Some beverages like Gatorade I freeze beforehand. I load it up and then transfer as needed to replenish the main cooler. After a couple days the Gatorade has thawed and is ready to drink.
A freezer is a nice to have not a need to have. The above is a great summary.
One issue that one needs to look at is how much fridge space one loses by having a freezer. Sometimes one loses more with larger units.
That said it is fun to have ice cream and ice cubes at camp.
Now that the sun is down here is a picture. One can more or less of see the ghost round halo. It is like the plastic has been affected by the adhesive.
On my rig at one point the PO had a secondary mirror attached to the outside driver side mirror. The adhesive left some sort of residue on the mirror which I have unsuccessfully tried to clean off with Goo-Gone. It is more of a haze than anything. It is a bit annoying. Anyone have a suggestion...
I typically take my little 5 pound cylinder. I got it long ago. It is short with a wide base so does not tip over. I just put it on the floor behind the driver's seat. Most of the 5 pounders made today are a bit taller with a narrower base so easier to tip over.
I also have a 10 pound...
We have seen this scam before. Basically someone takes over a former business. It looks legit because one sees it on Google maps. I bet if someone calls the O'Reily Auto store next door and asks for a picture it will show a different business there or an empty store front.
Last time we had a...
