    1HD-T 24v to 12v Starter Conversion Question

If it's the same as a 1HZ, a Cummins starter motor will work: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1974-hzj40-build.1120802/post-12208266

    confirm my suspicions

Sounds like the pushrod is set too tight, keeping pressure in the lines, which boiled the fluid.

Can one of you fine chaps measure something for me?

Don't remember what the measurements were, but I used a stock 70 damper and had to move the frame mount.

Thanks. I was just about to start rummaging around my old hard drive for pictures of the battery box.

    70 series front axle into 1972 fj40

This is the best shot I have of the passenger side perch. They are Barnes SUA perches. I can't recall the offset, but it just took a little grinding to get the perch to sit flat on the diff hump.

    70 series front axle into 1972 fj40

Is the front perch spacing different between a '72 and '74? I know that 70 series axles under a '74 required relocating both the front and rear perches.

Registry Post Pics Of Your Modded 7x Series

I have a build thread here BJ73 Build It hasn't been updated in a while, but not much has changed aside from the addition of some dents. There are some videos of it on my youtube page www.youtube.com/channel/UCCN1W5xlYqc8_HpJdZzegAg @2fpower Wish I could have made the kessler run; I need to see...

Paging @Bydge - get the man some pictures. IIRC, it is 2 3/4" tube, ran inside the frame until the tailpipe, and I think it went over the vacuum 4x4 actuator. It was dumping out the back, but fumes were rolling into the cab (might still be, I'm not sure if dad has had it changed yet), so side...

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. It's been a busy month. The power isn't bad; it keeps up with traffic around here and will do 70 without a problem. On real mountain passes, it is quicker than the semis, but still spends most of the time in the slow lane. The NA 1HZ is adequate, but if you...

Yep, the fan clutch took care of it. Over the weekend I plumbed the intake and worked on the soft top bows. T-bolt clamp is on the way to replace the screw clamp. The real steel bow kit required a few modifications. The most significant was cutting and bending the door frames inward at the...

Well, this explains some things. The new fan clutch, which I purchased from Wayne, is not an Aisin unit. I'm not sure who made it, the only marking is "made in Japan." The original fan clutch is draining now. I'll put in some new 10,000 cst fluid, check the engagement temperature, and run it.

Thanks for the offer; I might take you up on it if modifying this one doesn't work out. I am going to pull it and let the fluid drain tonight so that it will be ready when the radiator arrives.
