I feel the same way with this vehicle. That has to be the best definition of a 40 purist owner I ever read Grayscale. ASIDE from the drum brakes, which for me had to go, I love the original 3 on the tree drive. You're absolutely right. One thing leads to the next, and the next is boxes of...
-That's not much, for the effort and expense anyway. I feel you just put the project in perspective Mark. I have a set of 31" I could throw on for testing purposes, but I like this tire, easy to get in the truck, and looks nice.
-To the others that chimed in, thank you, good points all. I think...
Morning. Bone stock `66, running 7.00 x 15 Deestone. Think they were listed as 29" when I bought, they stand 28" with a tape measure. I love the look of these tires on this truck. With that being said, on road only, country back road driving. Like the title states, contemplating installing 3:73...
Hello. Would you sell just the rubber gasket by chance, and how much? I did a recent rebuild, can't get the sight glass to stop leaking. Albeit very slow, wouldn't mind trying a new gasket. Lmk, thanks, Mark
Like to try my hand at rebuilding my SD40, hoping to get my hands on one or two carb rebuild kits if there's some out there. Pm me if you'll part with.
Thanks,
Mark
I'm building 2 sets of bi-fold doors. One has partial hardware, other has none. Planning on replicating the wheel mounts, and sourcing out some rubber wheels, or making them. What I need most is the latches. If anyone has one, two or even three laying around, I'm a buyer. And for that matter...
One has to wonder how they pulled it off with `60's tech. So, has someone found a source to stamp the plates by chance? It would be interesting to have one and experiment with various coatings. The script, what about laser etching? I'm sure somebody is messing with it out there, I'd like to as...
Hey all. Has this topic been resurrected by chance? Great read, was hoping for a happy ending. Like many others, searching for a blue plate. Been some years since this thread, wondering if someone has found a way to reproduce these things yet. Welcoming any input.
Looking for useable switch and domelight, including mount bracket. Pics pulled from internet for reference. Message me if you have one or both sitting on the shelf.
Thanks in advance.
Mark
I think what I'm gonna do in the spring when it's warmer is mock this set up, up. Take a bunch of pics and post as a new thread. Guess I just need to see for myself. If I can get the doors to close, with the corrugated sides, then I only need to deal with the roof fitment. I found this...
Think I'm even more confused now. The question remains, if I had the proper top for these sides, would it fit on the `66 tub, including fitting over the windshield, and post `65 doors closing? I'm looking for a definitive yes it will, or no it won't, because.....
