Currently battling my own less than adequate brakes. To get enough braking force to get the abs to engage on a wet road I need to physically put all my weight onto the brake pedal.
When I do this the pedal goes almost to the floor and interestingly when I remove my foot it stays depressed and...
Just put new lines, fluid and rear discs on my lx.
Since doing that I've noticed that the brakes will pump up, ie, the pedal gets firmer with successive applications.
This may or may not have been there previously. Brakes work fine, just spongy pedal on first application.

Somme say Dot 4 and 5 will destroy your system. Some say its no problem.

On my LX470 there is a constant whirring noise coming from under the dash above the transmission hump.
It sounds like a servo constantly spinning. Its not the Telescopic steering.
Could this be the blend door servo?
It will only be toyota/lexus dealers who will attempt to fix it and all they'll do is throw new components at it.
Sensors are wear items, your rig is 20 years old, reasonable to bite the bullet and replace all of them and see if that fixes it.
Ummm, the car actually came with the FTE engine, it has oodles of aftermarket support and power upgrades, it will bolt straight in with factory equipment, it doesn't require buckets of cash just to fit it in and you don't need to jump through expensive compliance hoops. Seems compelling to me
