LED Headlight Install, 2000lm each no external driver

Got mine today, installed them, work great! Small box with 2 "bulbs" and no external drivers or other funny business. Just slid out the washer bottle on the passenger side, twisted out the old, and twisted in the new. Worked perfectly on the first try and much better than the previous bulbs...

LED Headlight Install, 2000lm each no external driver

Sorry, I'm new to the LED game myself to recommend anything, but if you search for "9005 LED Headlight" on Ebay there are a bunch of options from Cree that I would assumer are similar in quality. The cost difference for externals of the same lumens only seems to be $30-50, so it's really not a...

LED Headlight Install, 2000lm each no external driver

You can get more powerful LED's with externals, and passively cooled models would not be prone to fan failure. They are however, larger overall and more expensive to make up for it.

LED Headlight Install, 2000lm each no external driver

The auction this thread links to, as well as its title call out that these bulbs have no external driver. If you look at the back of the "bulbs" you will notice that they have a lot more "base" (or "bass" if you have been infected by Miss Trainor) than the typical external driver LED lamps. The...

    Builds 1994 1hz 80 series ZOMBIE

Can you get a Hot Glue Gun? http://www.instructables.com/id/Using-Hot-Glue-to-Insulate-and-Support-Soldering-J/ That could solve your need for heat shrink tubing, but then again it might just melt in the sun ;) Also if you are willing to risk a bit of heat damage, you can heat up a tool...

This is beautiful...somebody make it for me (60 headlights on an 80)!

would a 60 bumper have worse approach angles, or do they work around the valance enough? I want it to look good, but I also don't want to go banging the bumper around.

I'm more inclined to think it's a 60+ year old with a good eye that pound them by hand or with minimal machine assistance. This is Japan, you get a million or you get a few really really nice ones. I have a knife made in this style that I love.

very cool, no fender work is much appreciated. Now I just have to find or duplicate another one for me :( If you have enough bandwidth to upload a bunch of pics of the grill with a meter-stick next to it and show all the construction details you can. If I feel ambitious I might try to...

Do you mean that the owner of the TLC will be selling it off for (as) parts? Have the fenders, lights and grill already sold? (Your English is not so bad, but I have a Russian friend who speaks "pretty good American." Took me two years to notice the accent when we were drunk, so it seems the...

So that is a JDM OEM Toyota part? I see the RHD in the pic! I've also been mulling this over as I'm laying out a Retro Cruiser idea intended to honor a departed loved one (more on this once I launch the build thread, it'll be spring before it gets really interesting.) I was trying to think of a...
