Have you ever wondered what size wire to use for DC?

Nope. It is calculated round trip. Resistance in the wire is causing voltage drop. Always, both sides. It depends also on how much voltage drop is acceptable for the consumer to work. For DIN71522 voltage drops are factored in with wire lenghts appearing in a vehicle running 12V. I am in my...

Show me your 80/LX450 cockpit accessory mounts

yeah, bar - better a rail - would be the ultimate goal. issue: sadly there is no such thing as a straight piece of dash in an 80. only above the console, but its upper part is not stable enough.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Yeah, HB9 here. Well in theory it should be the other way around, as I understand it. Reflecting F1 and F2 layers start building up and disappear when the sun sets. During the night there is only D, which dampens more than reflecting which I saw as the band got quiet. So depending on time there...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

After getting my HAM expert license, I mounted the ATAS-120A and made some tests with the Yaesu FT-857D (wired up just on the rear seat from the aux batteries) on 20m. I managed to tune in a HAM station from north america - however he did not hear me :-( So no real contact made ... yet!

Show me your 80/LX450 cockpit accessory mounts

Yeah, issue is it gets more and more because I cant put an antenna anywhere useful around the flat, so the 80 is my ham radio shack too  I would be happy with some sort of a rail/track on the dash itself - but must be bulletproof. a) i lack the skill of welding right now (mainly...

Have you ever wondered what size wire to use for DC?

I suggest you cheat somewhere else than Ohm's Law 😂

Have you ever wondered what size wire to use for DC?

Plus size wire to consumer = ground wire to chassis (or "back where it came from"). Not smaller.

    Odometer correction

Hi all, I am looking for ways to correct the mileage on my new odometer to match the mileage of my old odometer. I am NOT looking for comments about "clocking" or stuff as I am getting my replacement odometer to match my original. So far I have 3 possibilities collected: 1. Turn the...
