2007 GX 470 220k miles smoke at startup

Confirmed head gasket is not leaking. They are going to run a scope on cylinders tomorrow. I feel like they are grasping at straws but clearly something burning hopefully issue will present itself soon.

2007 GX 470 220k miles smoke at startup

Not that I can tell. My son drives this one away at college so its hard to keep an eye on it day to day but the coolant didn't seem to be abnormally low when I checked but I topped it of nonetheless. I guess we could always drive it and see. Something is clearly burning at some point either...

2007 GX 470 220k miles smoke at startup

He said the vacuum lines were dry to the pcv for the power steering pump. If the PCV was allowing fluid by wouldn’t it have some fluid in the lines?

2007 GX 470 220k miles smoke at startup

It typically only does it after the vehicle has been sitting a while which would seem more inline with valve seals. However, all of this didn't start until right before power steering pump began to fail or at least mechanic said it was about to fail. After pump was replace they then said rack...

2007 GX 470 220k miles smoke at startup

My GX recently started smoking at startup. Vehicle has been well maintained and hasn't used any oil. Just had the power steering pump replaced mechanic says PCV on pump lines are dry so he doesn't think the PCV on power steering pump is bad. I find it hard to believe the valve seal started...

    2007 GX 470 200k - original transmission fluid

I don't trust myself or have the setup to do partial drain and refills so I would have to take it to a shop and have them pump out the old and put in the new. If that is my only option am I better of just leaving it alone?

    2007 GX 470 200k - original transmission fluid

I have owned this vehicle for 15 years transmission is working perfectly; however wondering if I should do a drain and refill of transmission fluid. I know not to flush a transmission with high mileage but Im wondering is it worth it to have someone simply drain and refill or just let sleeping...

07 GX 470 safety screen NAV override

Just an update to my own question; if you update to the latest maps CD ($10 from ebay) then the "I agree" button no longer appears. Glad to see they got rid of that in the later releases.

07 GX 470 safety screen NAV override

I remember reading this somewhere years ago, but is there a way to bypass the "I agree" screen on the NAV so you don't have to punch every time you start the car? Thanks

    Muffler replacement options?

Thanks, it’s hard to judge what “sounds good” since it varies from one person to the other but I appreciate all the feedback I can get.

    Muffler replacement options?

Did you delete the resonators as well or just replace muffler? YouTube has several cases of keeping resonator and deleting muffler but I haven’t seen anything vice versa as TahoeLX450 suggested. Just wondering what is the difference?

    Muffler replacement options?

Thanks, after spending a day on youtube looking up GX470 muffler sounds I am more confused than ever. Since I am trying to avoid multiple trips to the service shop I would like to get it done(lift/tires/exhaust) all at once but definitely don't want to overshoot and wind up with a the "cherry...

    Muffler replacement options?

In my continuing quest to transform our soccer mom vehicle for our 16 year old, are there any good sounding mufflers to replace the oem? I don’t want something overly loud that it is annoying or has a terrible drone on interstate driving however I would like something that sounds a little more...
