LX470 PPI Issues - Purchase or Keep Looking?

With being concerned about budget costs, I'm surprised you're not put off by the gas mileage. I bought my LX 5 years ago and put 60k miles on it. I had about 6k in maintenance costs, which included a timing belt. While many components are very robust. I had a couple years that I barely spent any...

    99 LX470 simple replacement head unit....suggestions?

By all means, it's your vehicle, but I'd think carefully before I dismissed the backup camera. You'll wonder how you lived without it, especially with the tiny mirrors and high liftgate. There's a ton of kids in my neighborhood, and while I usually back in the driveway, the wife pulls in.

Need advice on how to sell my 1998 LX470

I'm very tempted to keep the LX at this point. I feel like so much of the maintenance has been done, it drives great. I feel that I won't be able to buy one this nice for this money when I decide I want one again. My wife is definitely more inclined to see this sold. This has just turned into...

Need advice on how to sell my 1998 LX470

So I bought this 1998 LX470 about 5 years ago. I've put a ton of work into it, with mostly Toyota or Denso parts. I've had it on Craigslist and facebook, and the responses I get are either people that aren't serious, or want to tear it down. I cringe when they ask about pictures of the...

    Probably a stupid question

I have used 87 pretty religiously, but have used 91 when towing and don't believe it helped at all. I probably would run 91 if I was driving in the mountains or pulling long hills.

    LX Diffs

Ok, so................ someone, anyone, correct me if I misspeak. Your LX should have an open front differential and a limited slip rear differential. While the differential in your transfer case automatically locks in 4 low, it is selectable in 4 high. You should only engage the center diff...

Moab disaster turned best experience. Grandpas Garage!!!! BUY THE BRACKET!

I ordered mine from Kurt this morning, very courteous and professional. I work at a Jeep dealership, so I'll have one of the techs install these when I'm getting some other work done. So glad to have came across this thread.

    Do I need aftermarket parts?

As is being talked about elsewhere in the 100 forums, if you replace the front UCAs, not bad to throw this bracket in at the same time OME FK27. Moab disaster turned best experience. Grandpas Garage!!!! BUY THE BRACKET! and they're only $27 Not meant to hijack

    Moab May 19-23

Going on vacation to Moab towards the end of May. Unfortunately, we will be taking our JL Wrangler and not our LX470 as it's $400 vs $800 in gas. We will be doing mild/easy trails, nothing hardcore. PM if you're interested in wheeling with us.

To those that have deleted their AHC

I did not replace my swaybar and have been driving on the lift for almost 2 years and don't see a need to.
