With the weight on the rear, perhaps a slightly loose wheel bearing is suddenly more noticeable when the trailer's tongue weight lifts the front end. The airbags will keep the vehicle level, but I can't imagine that they would reduce the downward moment of the trailer tongue which causes a...
I wonder if you received the correct radio or not? It's been a while since I had an FJ80, so I'm not sure if the head unit changed between the FJ80 and FZJ80.
Yours:
But I wonder if it should look like this one from a '96:
Was the stock radio/CD/cassette installed in it when you bought it?
If it is aftermarket, did the previous owner splice in a non-OEM plug?
If you have pictures of the radio to be installed and the current open plugs available behind the dash (there should be more than one), that might be helpful.
An auto transmission won't force the motor to turn over because there is not a direct connection between the two. A manual trans will do so because the motor and transmission are directly coupled. The torque converter (a fluid pump) sits between the motor and the rest of the automatic...
I have one of each style from Hoppy. The one that pulls its power from the brake/turn wires puts out lower voltage to the trailer lights than the one powered from the battery. The difference in brightness is noticeable on a trailer with incandescent lights, but not with LED trailer lights.
CruiserDan or Beno will have it.
You'll have to remove the flare to properly assess the damage to the brackets on the flare's back side that hold the plastic body clips. When I ordered a few years ago, CDan had unpainted flares and color-matching gaskets in stock, so a new OEM replacement...
I laid plastic mesh cloth (screen window material) in place through and on both sides of the j-hook slot and then used JB weld to bond it to the battery box--basically the same method as fiberglass repair.
Generally speaking, no; certainly not reliably enough that I would wish to depend upon it for urgent/emergency communication. The higher powered mobile radio in the vehicle might be able to hit a repeater that is significantly out of LOS, but the handheld (usually 5W max output throught a...
Sight glass - yes, because I would like to have the replacement lines work like the OEM lines if it is time for diagnosis.
Rear A/C - I have no plans to add rear A/C; so I can not realize the value of an extra fitting.
