    Prof H's GX470

It's got great sound, and I love having a map program and back up camera. My only complaints are that the microphone for Siri can't always pick my voice very well (I have it mounted behind the steering wheel), and that my iPhone randomly disconnects. I think the disconnection problem has to do...

Here's one of the new Yakima RTTs (48" wide x 56" long) on my GX's Rhino Pioneer Platform.

    285 for a spare?

I had my 285 Toyo AT underneath (fits when aired down a bit) but it rubbed on the pan hard bar so I pulled it off.

GX 470 Wheel size recommendation for 285/70 - 17 tires

Just for future reference, I figured out my 285s weren't rubbing on the washer reservoir. Instead, the rubbing was on the front skid plate-- mine's pretty bashed up, and seems to have bowed out in a way that was causing problems. Once I dropped the skid, no more rubbing. I'm replacing it with an...

    OPOR - GX470 Slider Install

Ah, fun times, installing my OPOR sliders. Especially dremeling out one of the rivnuts when it started to spin. Plus, I had one of the first sets of sliders made, and not all the holes lined up perfectly, so those had to be drilled out slightly. And Metaltech didn't have any instructions at that...

GX 470 Wheel size recommendation for 285/70 - 17 tires

I have the 2014 trail edition 4Runner rims on my GX with 285/70/17 Toyo AT2s and an Old Man Emu lift. I think the offset is 15mm and the rims 17x7.5. With stock upper control arms the tires don't rub on the body mount, but I have rubbing on the inner fender lining behind the front bumper. I cut...

Gobi roof racks & ladder for the GX470

This is great news! I've been waiting for a ladder option for a while.

    OME 897 rear springs

I've had the 896 coils for the last four years on my GX. They were very stiff for the first two years unless fully loaded, but have settled down now into a perfect ride even without gear or kids in the back. 897s might be too firm, unless you're carrying a lot of weight. On the other hand, I...

GX470 - a few Q's, please enthrall me with your acumen....

    1. KDSS equipped GX470s aren't all that common, and KDSS makes it hard to fit sliders. I didn't think it was worth it, and when I got my GX, I focused on finding the vehicle with the best overall condition and least miles. KDSS would have made that harder. 2. 33s will fit with enough lift and...

GX470 Roof Racks -- Frontrunner vs K9 vs Rhinorack

Yeah, I don't have any info on the Frontrunner or Eezi-Awn racks either, but the Rhino Rack pioneer rack for the Prado 120 bolts right up to the GX. It's very functional, with lots of accessories. Bit of wind noise, but nothing excessive.

    Toyo tire options on GX?

Toyo AT2s on my GX... they balanced easily and are very quiet on road. Excellent traction aired down off road.
