    Rear prop shaft phasing/alignment confirmation/question

I'm replacing my u joints and finding some conflicting information around the internet, and not finding what I need from the search button on the forums. I pulled my rear prop shaft out and noticed the two flange yokes are not in phase, they are about 30 degrees off. The truck has no noticable...

3/88 fj62 idler pulley nut size

Looks like maybe I forgot to tighten this back down when I had it apart....luckily the bolt is long enough to keep the idler pulley on and spinning even without a nut. Making quite a racket though. Hopefully I can get the nut locally at the depot or something, if only I knew what size it was I...

FJ62 3F-E Possible Blown Head Gasket?

Request a kit from blackstone labs and get your oil analyzed. This is the best way to know definitively if you have coolant in the oil or not, its only like 20 bucks https://www.blackstone-labs.com You won't know if the head gasket is blown or the actual head is cracked till you take it apart...

fuel spraying from fuel delivery pipe at cold start injector pipe

OK I'm all fixed, and f anyone finds this thread searching: The ground wire goes on the hanger on the intake body, not on the fuel pipe. I had to torque the union bolts a bit extra, FSM says 14 ft/lb but 20 seems to have done it. Thanks yall

fuel spraying from fuel delivery pipe at cold start injector pipe

Is there a difference between the 'gasket' and a washer? The fsm seems to refer to those rectangular shaped washers as gaskets, which is what I'm referring to. Yes, these are what I'm using

fuel spraying from fuel delivery pipe at cold start injector pipe

Just replaced the head on my 88, all buttoned up, went to start and engine turns over but doesn't start. After turning over a few times then releasing the ignition, fuel sprays out of where the cold start injector pipe meets the fuel delivery pipe. Quite forcefully. The FSM diagram shows it...

    snapped bolt on pushrod(side) cover

Just kill me now, after spending an hour scraping old gasket off the side cover, wasn't thinking and torqued the s*** out of this bolt and snapped it right off. These are 35 inch lb bolts which I realize now is nearly nothing. Luckily it's near the front and accessible. If it was the rear-lower...

    pushrod/side cover bolt torque specs?

I can't find this in any of my FSMs. Anyone know the torque specs for the side cover? Or preferably where in the manual this is? Replacing the gasket now and don't want to snap a bolt after all this. I searched the forum for 30 minutes and can't find it in any of the threads either

Wanted WTB 3FE head - SoCal

My head is cracked, machinist says it's too big to repair. Anyone got a good head? Willing to drive pretty far, or arrange shipping. If the head condition is unknown (not-magnafluxed for cracks) I'd need a very low price, or assurance that you'd be willing to refund -b

    fj62 head job checklist

A few more questions now that the head is off 1. Anyone have any advice on how to clean the block for the new headgasket and how to protect it while the head is off? It is very hot and dry where I live, do I need to be concerned about rust on the block surface? Plenty of gunk in there, piston...

    Loosing collant

Send some of your oil to blackstone for an analysis. I had the same symptoms as you, and didn't see coolant in the oil, but when i sent it to blackstone they said for sure there was at least 1% of my oil was actually coolant.
