1978 FJ40 Borgeson 7812145 Power Steering Box replacement

If you drive much on the street, I recommend a Saginaw/Delphi 700 box (PN 800205). This is a variable-speed steering box that was used in late 1970's F cars. It has a ratio of 16:1 "at-center" making it less sensitive to steering wheel movement driving down the road, and a ratio of 13:1...

Wind wing window weatherstrip install science.

I have never found an aftermarket "weatherstrip" that would fit appropriately in the wind wing channel -- they are all too large. IMO the best way to seal these windows is to borrow a page from the hot rodders/classic car restorers and use a rubber sash channel filler. Steel Rubber Sash The...

Do Truggys count:flipoff2: After 18 years of abusing the stock wiring harness, I developed a short deep in the tangle and in a fit of frustration pulled out the entire mess. Bought a skinny harness from Painless:bang: and finally got that installed. I am happy to get the ECM, relays and...

Taller Jack Stands - What are you using or Making?

Any old wheel + 2" square receiver tube (male and female) + c-channel on top + 2" -- spaced holes in the male receiver = ultra heavy duty jack stand. This one ranges from 20" to 32" and has an auxiliary plate to hold FJ40 fenders (the last application):)

    Helmets

I really like The Bern -- high priced ski helmets. Very comfortable and lightweight. And, like Woody, required in my old truck. Check this one out. Macon 2.0
