    1978 fj40 ignition removal?

Followed the same procedure to pull the cylinder out but now I cannot get it back in. Is there a procedure I must follow?

    BJ74 New Owner and Review

I fully restored a 1983 BJ40 and upgraded my engine to a 13BT and mated it with the H55f gearbox. The vehicle is now in the UK and I have only done 200 miles since its rebuild. I read your introduction piece and would echo your views. This little gem of an engine is magnificent. The constant...

    40 series 5 speed.

Apologies for butting in on your thread. Love your enthusiasm and the amount of time and effort you have put in. Will you be manufacturing the correct top plate too? I recently upgraded my 40 series and added a H55f gearbox. I was told by Jonathan Ward of (ICON4X4) to source the correct top...

Best way to completely empty all coolant/water out of engine?

Sorry for introducing my own issue on your thread. My mechanic filled the radiator with normal tap water and I would like to drain the entire system too and refill it with a proper anti freeze for the UK market. Any tips on the do's and don'ts? I own a 1983 Land Cruiser BJ40 with a 13B-T engine...

What would you do? 3B or 13BT

Just installed a 13B-T in my 1984, BJ40. The engine is mated with a H55f gearbox.

    13bt 24-12 convert

Hi, I have a BJ40 with a B1 Diesel engine and a H55f. I wish to swap my engine with the 13BT. My vehicle is currently 12v. What changes do I need to make to run it on 12v? Also will I too have starting problems in winter?

What would you do? 3B or 13BT

My apologies, I meant I have already spent £1,500 buy parts such as lights and switches which are 12V compatible. Good to hear that your rig worked well in Alaska and if it can work there, it can easily work here too.

What would you do? 3B or 13BT

Hi, Need help. Just opened up my B1 diesel engine and the mechanic is suggesting I swap the engine with something a little more powerful. He suggests I go for the 13BT. The issue is, my vehicle is the 12V spec and I have just recently purchased kit worth over £1,500 which is based on the 12V...

1B Diesel Engine Rebuild + Turbo

Will speak to the mechanic tomorrow but so far from all the above comments it seems the turbo if not fitted with the correct output will in the long run affect the engine life. I am having the engine stripped and getting the blocked converted from B to B2 thereby adding another 200cc. I think I...

1B Diesel Engine Rebuild + Turbo

The body and chassis was in great condition but I have completely stripped everything, improved the chassis and realigned it. Body has been completely stripped, all minor rust spots have been repaired with new plate and converted soft top to a hard top body.

1B Diesel Engine Rebuild + Turbo

Sorry I don’t get your question. Not familiar with the tech language and certainly don’t understand what going vacuum means 🙂.

1B Diesel Engine Rebuild + Turbo

It's definately a B1 engine and it is a 1983 production vehicle. Models that were supplied to Asia probably had a mixture of specs.

1B Diesel Engine Rebuild + Turbo

Hi, My 1984 BJ40 is currently being restored. I have upgraded the 4 speed gearbox and installed a 5 speed H55f with the correct 40's top plate. The engine rebuild commences this coming Sunday and I need to make a decision on adding a Turbo kit to the 1B engine. I would love to hear from anyone...
